@simonwood You know, my initial thought was, “this is an abomination,” (and I still think that) however, I think I’ve figured it out where the idea came from.

It’s fish and chips. Battered fish, deep fried with potatoes.

@simonwood So the batter is corn meal or flour-based; hence the corn part. In the US (do you not have these? not even in Scotland?) a corn-battered, deep fried hot dog is a corn dog.

So they've made the “dog" out of fish, and mangled the whole concept into something only a mother could love.

@simonwood That's the Koreans! They've really taken this idea and run with it. Corn dogs have been a classic “kids' food" or “state fair” food for a century and, as far as I know, have always been a battered hot dog. I love ’em. (I also love English battered sausages, but they're very hard to find.)

...and then, apparently, it became a fad in Korea in the last few years.

New year, and I will be giving up on using Cloud based service to record my podcast.

None of my hosts want to use Chrome, and this last episode that I recorded with Riverside really sound terrible.

Time to warm up the zoom I suppose. What a pain in the ass.

    @collin @lippard Less that 45 days from a border, but, when you look at the so-called attributes of each group, one over the other is a pretty clear picture of my childhood.
