I hate this type of question. I don’t know whether I have trouble working out people’s intentions because my mental (and physical) health has me isolated socially. I don’t interact enough with people irl to know, I’ve been a loner basically all my life. Same for stuff like “do people frequently say X about you” - people don’t say anything about me, let alone frequently or to my face.
It’s really frustrating sometimes, especially when you’re trying to get any diagnosis because these questionnaires don’t take social anxiety into account.
But do I “agree”? Maybe I’m very good at figuring out other people, I just haven’t had enough opportunity to test it and come to any conclusions about my ability. I’m definitely overthinking this, as I usually do, because I probably don’t fully understand the possible implications of answering “agree” or “don’t agree” and I hate not understanding.
I keep seeing this advice from very smart people who have their lives together, “if you want to finish a thing, don’t tell people about it” - and two clicks later there’s other very smart people who also have their lives together going “if you want to finish a thing, tell people about it”. It’s really 50/50 which one you’re going to be told, almost as if it either depends on the individual which one works or it’s entirely meaningless.
So hide the HD stuff behind a paywall. I’m perfectly happy at 720p for the VAST majority of videos. Might even agree to go lower if it means I can watch it without ad breaks.
You brought up specifically HD. I’m willing to watch ads so that YT can continue delivering even lower quality videos as long as those ads don’t interrupt the video.
So in this episode they go into a cave, and can read some sort of energy field, as well as Troi having a sense that there are lifeforms present. Geordie explains that the people must be displaced in time, but only by a few milliseconds. If that’s true, how is there not overlap? Say the people are a few milliseconds ahead of...
The downvotes are because what you wrote is pointless. We all know it’s made up and in the end there is no actual, definitive, real answer. That’s not what we’re here for. We are here for the creative exercise of finding an answer that fits the universe of the show and episode. You just shut down that creative process.
I like that too and I don’t understand why people are so very fundamentally against having stuff recommended to them based on what they’re already following.
Are your goals too high? When you explained your job to me…” the psychologist trailed off. I knew where this was going. I was here after six visits to the GP in two years, all for unexplained exhaustion. Burnout, I guessed. Whatever that means....
I find myself checking out pretty often and just making myself feel bad about the state of the world, or killing half an hour on stupid games that I could 100% live without. This is probably pretty common, and I’m wondering what other people have found as a way to do more productive things with their phones in the downtime.
Productive is not what I’d call what I do but anyway: I don’t follow things that make me miserable or even just “people”. My feeds are full of all kinds of fun stuff, like my fandoms or science or art. So I don’t ever “doom scroll”, really, but read about what other people thought about that newest episode or some new thought they had about an ancient episode or general fan squealing about a ship or the newest weird findings about spinosaurus or ‘look at these new photos Perseverance has taken’ or ‘look at this detail in this awesome painting’ or ‘this is how to improve this aspect in your drawings’.
Many people out there suggest doing CBT while taking antidepressants, but I don’t see what problems CBT could potentially cure for me. Anxiety? Fixed by drugs (or should be fixed), Depression? Fixed by drugs, and so on. If my drugs fails at fixing problems, there’s a good chance that drug dose should be adjusted or I need...
You can never know with 100% certainty what effect any treatment, be it drug or therapy, might have for you personally without trying it. If a lot of people say that something helped them, that doesn’t mean it will definitely help you too. Some people don’t benefit from therapy, some don’t benefit from drugs, some benefit from both, some from neither. There is unfortunately no way around trying different things and seeing what happens (unless a particular treatment concept doesn’t make sense to you from the beginning or even makes you uncomfortable - then you’re probably better off skipping it).
Tbh, this particular question I’m having trouble answering (which might be telling too I suppose?) but I clicked through and took the longer version of the test and the result further confirms things that my therapist has already implied.
I hate that there are ridiculous places where getting a diagnosis might actually be harmful, that sucks so hard, man. I consider myself very fortunate to live in a place where a diagnosis can really only be beneficial (neutral at worst) and getting it is free. Just takes forever to get an appointment.
