@flexghost Oh, and speaking of rum (and karaoke)… during my honeymoon I did a karaoke of Prince’s “When Doves Cry.” Because I was the only person who participated in the resort’s karaoke event, I won a bottle of what turned out to be the worst-tasting rum I’ve ever had.

It’s ALL gender-affirming care.

Yet so many people’s objections to gender-affirming care don’t kick in until it goes against the gender binary. 🧐

@freemo I get what you’re saying, but it’s not an apples-to-apples comparison. People might frown upon cis gender affirmation that they see as vanity, but people are quite literally - and, frankly, genocidally - calling for the “eradication of transgenderism from public life.” In this way, public perception of cis and trans gender-affirming care are not the same. Not even close.

@freemo Plus, trans gender-affirming care shows a dramatic benefit with regard to suicide prevention. Cis gender-affirming care tends to improve quality of life - which is still important! - more than survival per se.
