Do Europeans really give their height in cm? You’d think they short hand it like to like 1.7m or whatever since height is one of those things that doesn’t really need to be exact and will change by a cm or so based on the kind of shoes you are wearing, or wearing shoes at all.
A better example would be if europeans really gave their weight in grams. I don’t think they do, they use kilo’s cause they don’t really need the precision of a gram for something like that.

We don’t “desperately” need more EVs. But if you want more domestically produced EVs for some reason, you nationalize the auto-industry and mandate them. Tariffs in capitalism just mean that the protected industries increase profits on the same or even less supply.
Slavery was always inefficient compared to just paying starvation wages and leaning on immigration to replenish the labor pool. Using inmates is a win/win as you still get to pay starvation wages, but now you don’t even have to worry about work-place organization, caring and feeding, and it’s constitutionally protected.
