@jake4480 I think that was part of the charm, at least in some circles, it was like I love Black Flag and Cheap Trick, or whatever, and then take a little bit of everything. We really had no shame 😜 Glad you liked it.

A couple of people have asked, since my recent instance change, about what I'm playing - musically speaking. Recently, I've been just messing around for a couple of hours, no more than 3-4 takes, and no previous idea of what I was going to do. Usually on a Sunday morning. As you can imagine it can vary in success widely but I'm also trying to learn how to record myself, get better at playing, everything really ... Here is a recent one.

It's provocatively entitled "240121 Song 4".

@jake4480 I've been hanging around some really good guitarists recently and jamming a lot, also just playing a lot more than I have for a while, trying new things to get out of old habits, and I think it is starting to pay off.

@ernie I also meant to say, it was my partner that just mentioned this to me, and I thought it sounded cool, but thought, hey, I'll post here on Mastodon, there's plenty of tech-savvy people, they may know a bit more... and then within minutes I find the person that made it. Cool.

Went out to have a couple drinks tonight with some of wifey's coworkers at this place called the Beer Research Institute, a taproom and arcade. Cool place. Had a couple local IPAs, some of the best nachos I've ever had, nice staff, music was great. I mean they were playing stuff like Descendents, Bad Religion, Misfits, wow. Wasn't expecting it. If you're ever in Phoenix area Arizona, I highly recommend the BRI.

When I'm not writing, playing or recording music, I like to pretend I'm a luthier. This was a recent kit build (not really a luthier) of a Thoman Jazzmaster guitar. Plays and sounds better than I ever expected.
