If i remember correctly, according to the environmental impact report, half of this stretch simply drains runoff right into the river. Adding more concrete isnt the way to go.
Of course, the state will still shove this project down our throats, forcing all wisconsin to pay for this regardless of whether they own a car. I feel very firmly that if the state cant afford a freeway with user fees (gas taxes/etc) than it cant afford a freeway.
It kind of worked for Bayshore and Corners of Brookfield? They are different types of malls, though. I'm not sure that I would want to pay money to live at Mayfair.
Awesome! So excited to see this development underway!
I wish the housing aspect of it was more ambitious (just looks a bit uninspired & small for such a site), but am excited to see it being built nonetheless.
Christian nationalism is the belief that America should be defined by Christianity, and that the government should take active steps to keep it that way....
I really appreciate this! If there is one thing that scares me most about the trajectory of this country, it is christian nationalism. Glad to see local religious leaders denouncing it.
I’m really impressed with the proposed station locations. With the exception of the airport & (possibly) oscar meyer options, they all seem to be in great locations! Wishing the best for Madison!
Wow! Thats awesome! In 2017 there were only 4 new businesses. In 2022, there were 25.
While low numbers such as these can skew percentage statistics, it really sounds like South Milwaukee is on the right track with lots of action made specifically to attract business. Excited to see what 2023 and beyond brings!
This poor woman … I wonder how long it will take before she gets fed up with the reckless drivers and moves out of Milwaukee. Reckless drivers cause financial hardship to good people and drive people out of the city.
Damn 6 crashes per year… imo, thats just straight up negligence from the city/state. Idk what more could be expected though. Villard is long/straight/excessively wide & 64th is also long/straight/excessively wide. Such an intersection just calls for trouble.
Villard just won a raise/tiger grant for a traffic calming redesign… hopefully it addresses this intersection as well.
I know its a super unpopular opinion, but i wouldnt mind seeing the domes torn down/replaced with a new botanical garden.
I find the domes to be rather underwhelming compared to other botanical gardens & find the facility to be rather inefficiently laid out.
I think losing the domes with no botanical garden replacement would be a big loss for the city, but dont really see the domes themselves as particularly worth saving.
Holy crap!! Talk about a shady landlord. Sounds like they knew full well what was going on, but neglected to inform residents until the DNR forced them to.
The oak leaf trail is a real gem! Excited to see it get continued love. Particularly love the idea of a new access point.
Its total pie in the sky, but i would love to see the north and south sections of the trail get connected by utilizing the hoan (like take just 2 of the 6 lanes to create a linear park)
