“Carrefour said a bottle of sugar-free peach-flavoured Lipton iced tea, produced by PepsiCo, shrank to 1.25 litres (0.33 gallon) from 1.5 litres, resulting in a 40% effective increase in the price a litre.”
AI: put some gasoline into your spaghettis
Everybody: Oh, look AI is so dumb
Human, the superior animals: let’s eat Tide Pods or take a selfie on the edge of a volcano
Everybody: well, humanity cannot be judged by a few specific cases
TIL in the Reminders App on MacOS, in the “Add date” field you can type a textual description like “In 3 weeks” and the correct date is entered. That’s nice.
“Match Group, the international conglomerate that owns Tinder, Hinge, OkCupid, and almost every other popular dating app, just inked a major partnership with OpenAI”
I’ve had an account since 2006, but lately Gandi was bought and they changed their price.
Before I could buy a domain and it came with 2 email addresses.
After the acquisition, the email adresses needed to be paid for in addition to the domain.
If the pricing was fair, I would have stayed, but they charge 57€/year per email address.
So for a single domain with 2 email addresses, I would go from 14€/y to 167€/y.
The supermarket where I mainly go shopping (Coop here in Switzerland) provides PDF receipts. And I have all of them (1253) for the last 6 years.
Using some Python, PDF parsing and SQLite, I now have scary stats about my (with my 2 sons) food & drink consumption.
Ramen: 18 Kg
Rice: 50 Kg
Mozzarella: 12 Kg
Milk: 543 L
Butter: 52 Kg
Chocolate: 57 Kg
Carac (chocolate pastry): 28 Kg
Face Masks: 850 (COVID FTW)
"The industrial design of the HP-35 was unusual not only for Hewlett-Packard, but for the electronics industry in general. Usually, the mechanical and electrical components of a product are determined before the exterior is designed. The HP-35 took the opposite approach."
So I started taking Daforin (Fluoxetine). Haven’t done this in 10 years. Didn’t go too well last time but back then I hadn’t gone through 7 years of talk therapy.
Can’t deny the effects on the physical symptoms on anxiety ( chest pain) are incredibly efficient.
@santiago Is possessed cat a possibility ? Or is your house built on an ancient cemetery? I’m just trying to find the most reasonable answer, not trying to scare you 😇
After reorganizing stuff I was left with a Pi3 with no life goal (just like me!) right on the day NetBSD 10 was released.
Was a bit lost at start with an unknown OS but overall it runs pretty well and has a lower memory usage than Debian. I only tried text mode stuff so far. Ok a younger me might have laughed at 116MB ram doing pretty much nothing in text mode being considered “low”.
@santiago I agree, we need a Raspberry OS “Ikigai” edition: you install it and then suddenly you know why you bought all these Raspis. But first all I need is a new benzo, Ikigaizolam
I’ve been using Prowl (https://www.prowlapp.com/) to programmatically send push notifications to my phone since 2009. No fancy tricks, just works. It does one thing, and it does it well.
That’s how most services should work IMHO. No need to add shiny thing, just do the basic things you’re designed to do and provide a simple API (use it via curl or use the available librairies available in most programming languages)
