SharpieThunderflare,

But he loved those DEVELOPERS DEVELOPERS DEVELOPERS!

SharpieThunderflare,

Love Octavia, mostly because I can run through missions Rick-Rolling people. Not always the most engaging gameplay mechanics wise, but definitely fun.

SharpieThunderflare,

Personally, I carry a pen knowing that it will one day be lost. Long before it runs out of ink, it will become someone else’s. Or broken.

I’ve never used a single pen long enough without losing or breaking it to need to refill it.

SharpieThunderflare,

Yeah, shame on him for going out of his way to provide helpful information for people, as a direct response to someone who asked for it!

SharpieThunderflare,

Yeah, DNS blocking is quite effective for not just ads, but also telemetry on Roku.

Personally, I use nextdns until I can can a good pihole setup going.

SharpieThunderflare,

Very true. Mostly just haven’t had the time. Also want to set up a little home server to play around with Proxmox and move Jellyfin off my main PC.

SharpieThunderflare,

Not sure how current it is, but LinuxBBQ has a live CD (Cream) with a bunch of WMs installed that you can easily switch between.

SharpieThunderflare,

And when they finally do wear out, send them in for a brand new pair!

SharpieThunderflare,

It’s not healthy to be alone forever. Humans need community of some kind (hopefully in person.)

That said, quitting social media is totally possible. Humans have lived without it for the vast majority of our societal existence.

SharpieThunderflare,

I had seen some of these in Tango’s video earlier, but they are so much more intense in first person! So much skill!

SharpieThunderflare,

I’d be interested in trying the system this guy is talking about. Anyone know if Eloquent is installable at this point?

College Kids Are Easily Bypassing Stupid University TikTok Bans (www.techdirt.com)

We’ve noted a few times how the political push to ban TikTok is a dumb performance largely designed to distract people from our failure to pass even a basic internet privacy law or regulate data brokers. We’ve also noted how college bans of TikTok are a dumb extension of that dumb performance, and don’t accomplish anything...

SharpieThunderflare,

But now the college’s IT/security team doesn’t have to deal with that particular piece of spyware on their network, which is a step in the right direction.

SharpieThunderflare,

I use Gravity Gesture, but it looks like that’s no longer available. I’ll do some digging and see if I can find an apk.

Edit: yeah, seems to have disappeared from Play Store and FDroid. There are sketchy apk hosting sites if you’re into that, but there’s gotta be a better way.

The trolliest trap I've ever made. (lemmy.world)

Trap: Chest in the bottom of a pool covered in magma blocks for the whirlpool effect. The chest is unreachable from the dry floor, and the pool past this deeper pit has flowing water to shove you down if you forget to crouch. There’s a space where you can swim up. I’ve largely kept the map loot free because I plan to upload...

SharpieThunderflare,

Don’t the magma bubbles replenish your oxygen?

SharpieThunderflare,

Absolutely. The beauty of nature is incredible, and being able to enjoy it is important to me. Not to mention there’s not as many people around to mess things up, make things loud/dirty, or be crowded by.

SharpieThunderflare,

That’s pretty standard Title Caps convention.

SharpieThunderflare,

Titles of books, movies, and other works; names of periodicals and magazines; chapter headings; and titles of articles and blog posts are usually capitalized using title case. Sentence-case capitalization is used for second-level headings and lower.

News headlines have traditionally been capitalized using title case, although these days, sentence case is often used, especially online.

From here. Seems like title case or sentence case is fine and both are used.

SharpieThunderflare,

Please take your advertising and spam elsewhere. :)

SharpieThunderflare,

War. Saw. City at war!

Voices from underground; whispers of freedom!

What are some YouTube channels which follow pre-monetisation ethos?

I’m looking for some small content creators who’s content has not been influenced by the potential of making money. In the early days of YouTube there was mostly trash, but then a few small channels started using formats, using specific styles and actually standing out above a pile shit....

SharpieThunderflare,

If you’re at all into Minecraft, EthosLab is the gold standard for low-key, super interesting, and not driven by money videos. He’s not small, but he’s worth mentioning in case anyone hasn’t heard of him.

SharpieThunderflare,

I am really excited for this. Loved Loki S1, and the general feeling of “what the heck is going to happen” I got watching it with friends for the first time.
