Slovak interior minister has appeared on an online channel hosted by Slovak #FarRight #conspirator Daniel Bombic*, opposition PS party MP and the former police president, Jaroslav Spišiak wrote on Facebook. Slovak courts have issued 3 international arrest warrants for Bombic, who lives in the UK, on charges of #extremism, #cyberbullying and disclosure of #PersonalData. British courts are expected to decide on his extradition to Slovakia at the end of March.

Slovak interior minister Matúš Šutaj Eštok (of the Hlas party) approves of the recent meeting between Slovak #MinisterOfDefence Juraj Blanár* and his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov. "We have a sovereign foreign policy at last," Šutaj Eštok told media on Sunday, adding Hlas supports peace in Ukraine that can only be achieved by diplomatic means.

The upcoming #elections to the #EuropeanParliament will show whether #Slovakia will remain part of European civilisation or whether the current government of Prime Minister Robert #Fico will push the country eastwards, says the leader of Slovakia's main opposition PS party. "Democratic elections are the only way to reverse the current course, to stop Robert Fico," PS leader Michal Šimečka said on Tuesday.

It is not only the US where #democracy and the #RuleOfLaw are at risk of being dismantled by authoritarians akin to fascists. Similar tendencies can be seen all around the world, including countries that keep under the radar of global news, such as Slovakia.
The country of five million at the "heart" of Europe is small enough to be overlooked (and rightly so) in the greater scheme of things, making international #headlines only when it fucks up on a large scale.
