Many believe healing will help them “handle” or “tolerate”their abusive relationships. They believe it will enable them to go back and help or change their abusers. However, it’s after healing that your tolerance for abuse diminishes. You see that you are worthy of better and realize you do not deserve maltreatment from anyone, especially those who are supposed to love and care for you.

While we don’t discount our feelings, being fully led by them can be a slippery slope. You may feel sad that you have to walk away from a relationship. However, if staying is unsafe, allowing that feeling of sadness to cause you to stay is not wise. Sometimes, we just need to be reminded that we deserve relationships that are mutually respectful and safe. ❤️

TiffaneyMooreBorgelin,

Forgiveness Does Not Restore Access | How To Forgive And Still Set Boundaries
https://youtu.be/pT6icWzn-v0

TiffaneyMooreBorgelin,

Many are quick to try to tie forgiveness to restoration (restored access to you). They will tell you that you have not forgiven someone if you cut them off. My latest YouTube video explores the difference between forgiveness and restoration and how the idea that the two are inextricably intertwined can actually put victims in harm’s way. It’s OK to go no contact or cut people off, even if you make the decision to forgive.

TiffaneyMooreBorgelin,

In my latest YouTube video about radical self-care, I examine the merits of giving and altruism and the dangers of extreme altruism. Well, when the water flows through the pipe, the pipe gets wet to. So, I’m sharing because researching this topic reminded me that self-care is not a destination, especially for givers. It is definitely an ongoing journey. Stay the course. ❤️
