Okay, I see what the rage is all about (lemmy.zip)

Never would have thought it’d make such a huge difference. The “smoking” experience is different and actually a lot more pleasant. The high was also a little different: it still hit hard, but it took a little to get there. There was an initial learning curve of using this thing (Dynavap B), but after that hurdle, it was...

Today,

When it’s just right, it’s really good. I have a hard time getting the heat right and sometimes end up overdoing it. My son has the little spaceship induction heater and loves it.

Today,

I have a pax 2 and I got the budkups for it, which are really nice. I like that the dynavap is so quick and easy to empty and refill - I just need work on finding a consistent heating technique. Last year I started buying the disposable vapes from Secret Nature and I haven’t been using my dry herb vapes as much. I need to get back to it. I have the Hoku subscription and it’s starting to pile up.

Today,

Don’t join the military if you weren’t already considering it before the breakup.

Today,

Just recognize that you’re in a difficult situation right now, and don’t let the short-term impact your long-term.

Today,

We we had been living together for two years and had kids. My mom wanted us to do a small ceremony at a beautiful park near her house but i was resistant. We did the courthouse alone and then just went home. I wish we had listened to her and really celebrated with at least our parents present. Looking back it feels like we made a business transaction out of what could have been a fun, romantic day. Just had our 30th anniversary.

Today,

We had no pictures either. Renewd our vows 11 years in and took a nice photo.

Today,

I realized today that people on movies are weird in cute, quirky ways. Most of us are just weird in weird ways.

Today,

Nothing good happens after midnight.

Today,

If you have kids, you’ll get a second wind when they’re gone. Our adult son was staying with us for a while. We came in about 3:00 a.m. and scared the shit out of him because he thought we were upstairs asleep.

Today,

All the best stuff happens after midnight!

Today,

We only eat the fascist cows. And the homophobic chickens at Chick-fil-A.

What are some free interests/things/hobbies you can do in the city?

I live alone and I’m just wasting away my time here. It’s actually making me very depressed to be honest. I do live in the city which makes think there ought to be at least something to do out here. Though I can’t really afford to spent money on it every day....

Today,

I like to go to art craft market sales. Not the school gym type, the weird stuff on the sidewalk type. There’s usually interesting stuff and people to see, and sometimes food.

Let's gloat a little, What makes Lemmy/Mastodon/KBin/BlueSky and the Fediverse better than Facebook/Reddit/Twitter?

With Lemmy - I can block whomever is bothering me and I will not see their posts ever again. I can see their notifications and they somehow can keep responding to me (which ought to be worked on). But erasing their existence on my end should be a thing when you don't want to deal with them....

Today,

No ads. It required a little bit of effort to get here which keeps it a little smaller and more serious. Oh, also, If someone says, “hey, I really like this chair,” and then I go learn about that chair, I don’t have to get ads about that chair for the next two years - which I guess is part of the no ads.

Today,

There are a lot of parks that have AM station signs for weather and emergency info. We’ve used it when we were camping during storms.

[Serious] Do you know of any processed snack foods with some vitamins?

Trying to keep my very picky eater 3yo healthy as we’re (hopefully) expanding his diet. Right now the only foods I can get him to actually eat are McDonald’s, a specific brand of yogurt, banana bread, some crackers and some bars. Refuses any beverage besides water. (He’s likely on the spectrum.)

Today,

Have you tried Lenny and Larry’s complete cookies?

Today,

Not a pocket tv, but we had radios that picked up tv signals. Those were pretty popular. We had several when i was a kid. You could still buy them fairly recently - before the digital thing. We used to take one camping for local weather reports.

Today,

We took care of both of our moms. It’s hard. Money helped a lot - MIL had a nice savings So we never had to pay for anything. My mom had long-term care insurance, so that and her savings covered her care. It’s very very stressful. You have to be able to get away occasionally and that’s either hiring someone or begging friend/family for help. I hope that I’m accepting of what my kids tell me is best for me. Looking back, I wish I had listened more to what my mom told me she wanted/didn’t want.

Today,

Sometimes. We think a triple triple is going to be three triples, but in most cases a triple triple is just two triples. Jameson’s triple triple is distilled three times and then barreled three times. At In-N-Out a triple triple is triple burger and triple cheese. In crochet they call it a triple treble but in that case you do something four times and then do the same thing three more times. So that’s weird and it might depend on which side of the Atlantic you’re on. So I think what people think a triple triple is going to be (3 triples) is really a triple triple triple.

Today,

A bear can kill you, but they can’t buy guns, so they probably can’t kill more than one or two of you at a time.
