Getting one or two stops back on a train to catch an empty train constitutes fare evasion. Many commuters think it would not be found, but not necessarily true. This is what friends of mine working as station staff told me:

  1. Ask all passengers to alight the train before it reverses

  2. Make sure that all passengers queue up before doors

  3. Do ticket inspection from the end of each queue

  4. Result in penalty fares of 200k to 800k yen in most cases.

Daughter came home and is interested in the Nintendo DS. She discovered there is an Animal Crossing game for it so sheโ€™s all in on it now.

When she was three the first game she got into was Animal Crossing on the GameCube. I had to read her the text, but she loved everything about it. This is her franchise.

Iโ€™ve seen several posts of old Macs recently, so I dug out my old MacBook G4 (from ca. 2003) to see what shape itโ€™s in.

Itโ€™s a thicc boi. ๐Ÿ˜ณ (13-in MacBook Pro M1 shown for comparison)

It turns on and makes the Mac noise, but seems to not load the OS ๐Ÿ˜ข

Maybe Iโ€™ll try to make a recovery CD and see if I can get it going ๐Ÿ’ก

@FlockOfCats @kawasemi @gullevek Basically this. Itโ€™s not going to make you actually be able to launch a real rocket, but you will understand the math better to do so. Half of the fun and the true Kerbal way is to just guess everything. And when in doubt use more struts! They donโ€™t add weight in the game so you can use as much as you like.

@ChrisJValdez I'm going back to San Francisco this week and so was looking for maybe some controllers or something to bring back home as a gift for my friends. Somehow I finally got the good RNG ๐Ÿคฉ I'd never found an SFC 1chip in the "random used SFC" pile before at a retro game shop, usually they're always sectioned away from the others and hugely marked up in price ๐Ÿฅบ

Very happy with this find! It's pretty yellow but a friend already has a clear Retro Game Restore shell waiting for it ๐Ÿฅฐ

@brian @charles @ChrisJValdez There is a mod out that makes it a non-issue. My SHVC-CPU-01 model does look a little soft say compared to my V0 Sega Mega Drive or RGB modded Colecovision. If you are using scanlines you don't really notice it.

I'm keeping mine straight grandpa with the exception of the SNS-CPU-GPM-02 CPU swap I did when mine got the black screen of death that so many SHVC-CPU-01's get. It's all good in the hood now. https://youtu.be/vejvc1dP4xQ?si=MdQjUVIr1ZYlLQ3g

Finally ready to ski. Wife is signing the kids up for ski school and my son absolutely needs it. He had to go down this little with with some very mild traversing and he kept pointing them downhill toward a fence.๐Ÿ˜ฎโ€๐Ÿ’จ Needless to say he took me down with him.

Not so many photos today. The Ichinose area doesnโ€™t accept credit cards and Not a single ATM. There is a post office at the other end of this area that has one, but we discovered it was closed because it was Sunday. My wife went into the hotel near buy asking where another one was, but there wasnโ€™t one close. The dude at the front desk said if she buys a lift ticket she can cancel it and they will pay her back in cash. Thatโ€™s what we ended up doing. Dude must be cool AF.

This is pretty neat! If you are into the space you have likely heard that the toward the end of its life had the subscription service called the . They released downloadable content that wasn't available anywhere else. One such game was a a particular version of . Still to this day nobody has it, but video of it existed, so a dude recreated it via that.
