This is pretty neat! If you are into the #SNES#retrogaming space you have likely heard that the #SuperFamicom toward the end of its life had the subscription service called the #Satellaview. They released downloadable content that wasn't available anywhere else. One such game was a a particular version of #FZero. Still to this day nobody has it, but video of it existed, so a dude recreated it via that. I loved #FZero SNES as a kid and rented it over and over. It's a bummer that #FZero99 already seems neglected and inevitably will probably disappear since it's a game-as-a-service thing. Even on weekends, it is hard to get 99 people racing at once and you end up mostly racing against bots on the same old tracks. Another missed opportunity for old Captain Falcon. #NintendoSwitch
👾 Hello Retro Gamers! Today I thought I'd dig into my SNES shelf & post 2 random games from there. Donkey Kong Country 2 & F-Zero.
I posted earlier in the week about my history on F-Zero games. Love them! Donkey Kong Country 2 I love but I was late to the game since I only recently started playing it. I was missing out on such a great game for this whole time!!! It is a great title & still fun today.
👾 Hey retro gamers, here are a couple of games from my Gamecube shelf. F-Zero GX and Universal Theme Park Adventure.
F-Zero GX always has been one of my more favorite racing games series. I actually started with the N64 version, then later I got the GBA, SNES and Gamecube version.
Switching from Pro controller to the SNES controller in #FZero99 has improved my game massively, it just feels so right! :pika_shocked: I'm still not brilliant, but I'm getting close to the top 10 now.
Also, adjust the controls BEFORE you join a race! ZL+ZR on the Pro are for spinning, on the SNES controller they will take a screenshot and boot you back to the homescreen! I'm glad spinning is L+R, it would've been awkward otherwise (tiny buttons!) 😂
F-Zero 99 is an absolute blast! Completely chaotic fun with that "just one more go" feeling each time you finish a race. I haven't won a race yet, highest I've got is 2nd but I'm quite happy with that.

So, I played some F-Zero 99 last night. That is some WILD chaos. It's fun, but so chaotic.
And hard!
I got in 40th, 99th, and 20th place respectively in my 3 matches with people online. The 99th place was where I got ring-outed right off the bat and my vehicle exploded.
Definitely will try it out again later.
TL;DR: My first impressions of F-Zero 99 are that it's cool, challenging, and chaotic. Will play again.
While I love the idea of F-Zero 99, it already feels like there's a clock on how long it will stay online before it disappears again forever. And I really don't want to get excited for something that's just no longer going to exist a year or two from now.
Another quickie. Just rolling out another F-Zero playthrough also by that person behind the SMK Limited series. Again much like Super Mario Kart hack playthroughs these will not be too frequent so as to not encourage boredom.
