I saw this same thing when Reddit exploded in popularity. I’m choosing to be patient for a few months. I view it all as really good due to exponential growth.

This is just the beginning. More and more moderators being forced on shitty tools will be leaving soon. I couldn’t imagine trying to mod subreddits without custom API tools.

So glad I accidentally signed up on the best server. I don’t regret my decision. Now that I have WefWef, I’m sold. Love it here. Love the server. Love the community and subscribed to multiple communities in the fediverse too. Learning a lot!

PSA: don't trust your user profile

Your user profile on reddit may not show any comments anymore but that doesn't mean they're all gone. If you want to purge your content, use the search engine of your preference to look for your username. I just spent four hours manually deleting a bunch of stuff that didn't show up on my profile and that any automated solutions...

I wiped what I could with tools then manually purged all my top ranking stuff that was older. Did some Google searches and found tons of it ranking #1 that now goes to a deleted post. lol

I won’t trust my content to a greedy Reddit without a complete revival for the API and sweeping removal of their entire administration.

In other words, I’ve left and not returning.

Are there any Reddit refugees spending more time on Lemmy than Reddit?

I am theoretically switching over from Reddit to Lemmy. Finding myself spending more time on Lemmy than on Reddit. Maybe it's because I am limited to using the desktop and can't aimlessly browse Reddit on my iPhone. Of late, the only subreddits I cared for were on sports and their matchday threads and r/watches.
