1940s New York for a chemically enhanced all American soldier, get yourself down to Liverpool docks. 😁

The backstory was shocking and insane and Killian’s artwork was amazing, I loved his style. I’ll never forget that one scene where the hero tells the doctor to go to hell, and he simply replies something like, “nope, already been there.”

I also remember the brilliant artwork of Dennis Beauvis for Aliens: Book Two, which was the first comic I saw when it was serialised in a magazine here in the UK. Another story of a mad military commander who thinks he has the aliens under control, which he can control like an army.

The Blue Shift expansion definitely was released onto the internet, but the loading times put me off playing the game.

I’d completely forgotten he was in this!

I decided to go over to Blu-ray.com and read the review of the 28 Days Later Blu-ray release. Most of the film does look poor because of the cameras used in production. The reviewer states that this does match up with the film’s tone and aesthetic though.

However, I wasn’t aware of this, a final portion of the film was shot on 35mm film and this is obviously the best looking part of the disc.

It’s good to see Netflix can make trailers that don’t give away everything in one single 3 minute montage.

Wow! This one has been in development for a very long time. I remember when it was going to be directed by John Woo!

I understand people have opinions, but I like to watch the finished film before making them. :-)

I did wonder about the trailer, was it the whole plot or just the start of the film. It’s a bit of a gamble.

My wife really wanted to see them and stayed up until 2am but she says she couldn’t see anything.

I’ve just found out from another article that there are four different levels of gubbins. If you want just the film, it’s $36.

The shadow box is lovely and way out of my price range. 😄

I used to have a clone of the technic Lego Batpod but it was rather fragile and I lost pieces so I binned it.

Although, I’ve just recently got a MOC Batpod which a minifig can ride.

If Lego released the animated version of the Batmobile, that would probably do me.

Beowulf & Grendel (2005)

Quite enjoyed this, review coming later in May for a blogathan.

Wrath of Gods (2006)

The making of Beowulf & Grendel. Bloody hell, the shit they went through to get this film made! Well worth a watch even if you haven’t seen the film.

The Train (1964)

A review.

Troll Hunter (2010)

Really, really enjoyed this. Saving detailed thoughts for a review.

I have my copy of The Abyss on pre-order. Thanks to the UK release shenanigans, I think my copy is the Swedish version. It’s definitely a European copy anyway.

I think the first tapes I remember buying were the stories with books. You know, Back to the Future condensed into 20 odd minutes of audio and a 24-page book.

My first album (cassette) I think was the Top Gun soundtrack. The first vinyl was Batman by Prince, which I bought on a school day trip to France.

Finally, one Christmas, my parents told me they were buying me a CD/Tape deck and gave me money to buy some CDs. I bought Stranger in a Strange Land by Iron Maiden, and the Soundtrack to Alien.

When did you see somebody overplay their new toy?

I’ve been watching the Rugby Cup Final this evening and fuming. They have this fancy new traveling side camera and they can’t help but use it. STOP IT!!! You are making everybody seasick. Which made me think, might you good people have examples of when somebody badly overplayed their new toy? On a completely unrelated note,...

My youngest has never really liked dressing up and he goes to a special needs school with no uniform policy.

Therefore, when a dressing up day arrives, my wife made him a t-shirt which reads 404: Costume not found. It’s been worn quite a lot.

Is Feddit.uk under maintenance?

Hi all. I’ve chosen Connect For Lemmy as my go-to android lemmy app for now but it has a strange quirk. (Unless this is true?) While trying to search or even access communities, I’m getting an error page telling me that feddit is under maintenance. There’s even a banner informing me this across the bottom of the app....

I think the servers were taking a hammering on the day. Everything seems to be ok since.
