UnpopularCrow,

It is time to develop a way to remove nations who clearly don’t have the EU’s best interest at heart. Hungary is long overdue to be bounced from the EU.

UnpopularCrow,

I think that is a fair point. One possible option would be to withhold any financial assistance to Hungary. As of 2021, they cost the EU 4.2 billion euros (statista.com/…/net-contributors-to-eu-budget/).

UnpopularCrow,

Agreed.

UnpopularCrow,

Ukraine isn’t in the EU.

UnpopularCrow,

Ohhh, gotcha. I understand now. lol. It’s been a long morning…

UnpopularCrow,

Yes! And we also use “Up Quark!“ when I want her to get up. Not surprisingly, I use this less. lol. I still need to find a top and bottom use.

UnpopularCrow,

Done! Lots of scratches and belly rubs!

UnpopularCrow,

Me too!

UnpopularCrow,

She sure is!

UnpopularCrow,

Samoyed!

UnpopularCrow,

Such a beautiful country! Although I’ve only been there during the summer. I know the winters can be rough.

UnpopularCrow,

Hey doesn’t Phil Mickelson play golf there?

What are some games you wouldn't play without mods?

The game that stands out to me is Fallout 4. The new dialogue system only hinted at what the protagonist was going to say with vague choices like “sarcastic” and that led me to reload saves frequently to either check out other options or because the protagonist came off as way too intense an railroaded me down a conversation...

UnpopularCrow,

Civ 5 or Civ 6.

UnpopularCrow,

Don’t get me wrong, the vanilla versions of both games are great. But once you explore the higher end mods, it’s hard to play without them. I would recommend AI+, some of the expanded unit additions and there are some great diplomacy mods. I am not on my computer at the moment, but I’ll DM you tomorrow some of my must haves.

UnpopularCrow,

The 3rd district in Colorado is not a swing district. It became a swing district because of Boebert. It was pretty red before she showed up.

UnpopularCrow,

If Biden reschedules (or even better legalizes — I know this is a larger challenge legally) cannabis and takes a harder stance against Israel, I think he would win most of the key states he needs to win the election. Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Nevada, Michigan, Arizona, and to a lesser degree Georgia will determine this election. The rest of the states are locked in. A 1% swing can mean the difference to prevent a dictatorship.

UnpopularCrow,

According to the census, 1.1% of Americans are Muslim and many Muslim leaders are encouraging their base not to vote for Biden. They aren’t voting for Trump either but since Muslims lean heavily democrat, a non vote is the same as voting for Trump in a swing state. It isn’t that they want Trump and authoritarianism, it’s that they are protesting against the US support for Israel.

UnpopularCrow,

I certainly do not disagree with you. What the Muslim leaders are doing is certainly stupid as Trump will be far worse for their people in the Middle East. I am just relaying the information that is out there about their current agenda.

UnpopularCrow,

Not a huge surprise. Subway as a company sucks. I’ve heard horror stories from franchise owners when I worked there. Plus, I think John Oliver did an episode on them for how shitty the subway overlords are. Also come on, when it was $5 to get a footlong sub, I could wrap my head around it, but now the same sandwich is like $12.

UnpopularCrow,

I’ve read a couple of Dean’s books and I don’t regret it, but also didn’t find them that good.

Outside a couple of disappointments, everything I’ve read from King has ranged from really good (Salems lot, tommyknockers, etc) to outstanding (the dark tower series, the tailsman).

UnpopularCrow,

Ego is a huge human weakness. People struggle hard to admit they are wrong. This is especially true if they are committed to an idea that happens to be wrong. They would rather distort their own reality than admit they were wrong and try to grow from the experience. Once nice thing about being a scientist is we get lots of critical feedback from one another and we learn to admit when we are incorrect. However, even we are not immune. I know of one scientist who ruined their career committing to an idea that was wrong.
