VonCesaw,

Isekai is wish fulfillment plus doing worldbuilding and exposition simultaneously without having a disembodied narrator

It’s efficient for the format it takes place in, and why a lot of lazy game narration gives in-world characters amnesia

VonCesaw,

Hunter is asking the real questions, take notes journalism

VonCesaw,

In a world full of ‘flying boats’, asking why we aren’t also flying is valid

Nobody reasonable is asking for the impossible, we’re asking for what those who are “worse off” financially have

VonCesaw,

Legit the cheapo plastic screens on the less than $100 phones are the most resilient phones i’ve ever owned

I had a chunk of metal fall on one, and the only thing it did was INDENT the screen, the plastic was soft enough to bend rather than just crack

VonCesaw,

I still think the bear question is completely loaded

I would ALWAYS choose the bear. Everyone I know would ALWAYS choose the bear. If the random man was a person they were close to, most people would STILL choose the bear because bears are rad as hell

VonCesaw,

Good faith would be the “vote blue no matter who” and “every vote not for biden is a vote for DRUMPF” crowd

VonCesaw,

Satirical website but their main focus is music instead of international and domestic politics

VonCesaw,

Depends on the dye, depends on the process

There are a heck of a lot of places that only use dyes that are non-toxic in case they lick themselves

"Grow up. These are my movies, not yours": George Lucas Won't be Happy How Star Wars Fan Group is Illegally Saving the Original Trilogy (fandomwire.com)

The original trilogy of Star Wars films, spearheaded by George Lucas were critical and commercial successes. However, in 1997 Lucas released the “Special Edition” of the films for the trilogy’s 20th anniversary, which featured extensive changes to the original theatrical cuts....

VonCesaw,

As far as cinematic technical works go, they’re pretty good

As far as a serious story/plot go, they’re terrible

As far as schlocky Sci-Fi go, nothing beats the original trilogy, but the second trilogy is just as schlocky but with a higher budget

VonCesaw,

imo for pedants like myself, it needs to be made clear if the bear is LIKELY to harm you

If its a black bear, red panda, or the like that is not even fair, EVERYONE would rather be with a bear that doesnt want to be near you rather than some potentially dangerous rando

VonCesaw,

from personal experience, veggie burgers make excellent topping-condiments to regular burgers

they have all the flavors a burger wants

VonCesaw,

The neckbeards said it was bad because it had women as the main cast

The movie was bad because it was made bad, not because of the cast

VonCesaw,

I’m not gonna say that his review was ‘racist’ at all, but saying characters that are Asian in an Asian community ‘limiting the appeal of the movie’ and ‘made for the directors immediate friends and family’ is absolutely bananas

And for a review of a movie he wasn’t interested in, why did he need to double down on his review of it

VonCesaw,

I mean, if by “liberal bias” they mean “they want NPR to continue” I guess it’s technically true, the same way that “Public Broadcasting should continue” also counts as “liberal bias”

I’m like 90% sure I remember Mr. Rogers testifying before Congress to keep PBS a thing, which was met with vitriol by right-wingers

VonCesaw,

No, the first part and the second part were definitely separate, because regarding the 2nd one chumbos like ol Benny “my wife is a doctor” went on a crusade defending Mr Rogers because Rogers mentions that boys and girls are different

VonCesaw,

unironically buy bags of frozen veg and throw them into the broth, let it heat back up, then throw noodles in

VonCesaw,

Employers, as a general body, fundamentally disagree with what the fediverse stands for

VonCesaw,

smh how can you tell him from the lady dwarves now

VonCesaw,

I’m gonna be honest, I have the same gene, and it entirely depends on the company’s skill in formulating the product

I’ve never had a shelf stable packaged food that had artificial sugars that ever tasted even “acceptable”, and most soft drinks suffer from the same issue. ENERGY DRINKS however are the sweet spot that everyone should be mimicking, where they use a mix of glucose and acesulfame K so you taste both real sugar and sweetener

VonCesaw,

Dunno if it helps anyone but there’s a site that breaks a lot of these down into hyper-niche categories

The most “European mind cannot comprehend this” thing around 🇺🇸

VonCesaw,

Not all of us have 100k lying around 😔
