Unless anyone knows another reason for this impressive increase in comments? Seems to roughly coincide with Sync launching. If thats the case, just goes to show the importance of good third party apps....
What about 2.4 GHz based wireless? I know logitech has that tech but I haven’t looked into audio latency since I used wired anyways, but I have been curious about it
I usually just use walmarts website, you can type in your zip code and find the physical walmart where you live and then filter items there are actually in the store, it tells you the price obviously but also the exact isle its in, so once you find what you need it you can just go get it in like 10-20 minutes based on distance
Yeah I’m on .ml too and it’s not federated with NSFW instances, not bothered by it much and actually kinda prefer it all being under my alt on another instance
Infinity was my app of choice for like 2ish years, it still works with Reddit atm but when I moved to Lemmy the only real app was Jerboa, and man it was not the same
I delt with it tho, in the hopes that one day Infinity would be for Lemmy
And omg ITS BACK BAYBE
I am way too stocked over a Lemmy app, but man Infinity is lightning fast, super smooth, and beyond customizable! So I won’t be needing Jerboa or Liftoff anymore
What harm does public data have to you? Couldn’t one just ignore the ads? You can’t see anyone watching you, is public data good for public records? (I’m just curious). I know this sounds weird but is public data good for historical preservation and knowledge increasing the importance of the individual? And does public...
This was a reply I posted on “What should I say when someone says they “don’t have anything to hide”?” In ask Lemmy a week ago, and I think it’s still applicable here
They don’t choose what they need to hide, if their government outlaws woodworking tomorrow, then any carpenters today go from “having nothing to hide” to “I need to hide my entire career and hobby” overnight and in their sleep.
And then the government threatens Facebook to hand over messages from any user suspected of woodworking, and then they get persecuted and arrested
The government threatens Google to hand over all browser history from suspected woodworkers, Apple for all iCloud photos from suspected woodworkers, Amazon for all woodworking related purchases
It goes on
If the carpenter cared about privacy from the start, then the government just wouldn’t be able to find them and arrest them for simply woodworking
But the carpenter didn’t care about privacy, they “had nothing to hide” yesterday, so when that law goes into effect tomorrow the government will have a really easy time finding them
It was my app of choice and I got so use to it, whenever I go back to it every once and a while, I just remember everything I miss since switching to jerboa
Biggest one is definitely the smoothness, idk y but jerboa has a subtly noticable stutter every time I swipe around the feeds, whereas Infinity is completely smooth, running at 90hz flawlessly
And there’s alot of other small QoL and rough-around-the-edges things, too
The minute that Infinity for Lemmy comes out, if at all, is the minute that I return to my home app
Honestly really wasn’t a big fan of the look and functionality back when I first tried it, but it looks like it got updated recently with some more customization and theming options
Closer to Infinity but still I miss it
It also still has the weird scrolling stutter, but overall does seem more polished than jerboa

What websites do you use as an alternative to Amazon?
I’ve been trying to avoid shopping on Amazon for several years. For computer parts, I look at Newegg. For pet stuff, Chewy....
