Yearly1845,

Yeah and then Paul came along and realized he could froth up a rabid following because the bible is inherently unverifiable.

Yearly1845,

Yeah those small southern towns of 50,000 people. Train service to so few people would never make sense! ^/s

“This is probably going to suck but I’m young and should take advantage of my youth and do dumb shit with my friends while I can” dies

You: HAHA SUCK IT LOSER!

I mean, what the hell? This kid was barely a teenager.

Yearly1845,

Man these heart defects are scary. I know at least two people IRL that just dropped dead very young from an undiagnosed heart defect. One was a very fit athlete.

Poor kid. Poor family. Shitty situation all around.

Yearly1845, (edited )

I mean sure, OK, but you can go your entire life without realizing you have a heart problem and then you just drop dead one day without ever realizing you were at risk. That’s the scary part. One person died while running on a track, decades before COVID was a thing. The other died at home and left four young children behind; wasn’t sick, no symptoms, just gone. I know three other people that just up and died from aneurysms.

I’m not scared of dying, and I know that any given moment could be my last one ever, but I really like my life and I’ve got shit I still want to do, you know?

Yearly1845,

Viruses have literally nothing to do with what I’m talking about. No one is talking about viruses here, not sure why you’re hung up on them.

Yearly1845,

Recursive universe theory strikes again

Yearly1845,

I just got a Gen 3 T14s and I have been very happy with it. It seems like it has kind of narrow viewing windows which is kind of annoying, but not a dealbreaker for me. Overall a very peppy laptop.

Yearly1845,

Blocking corporate mergers is vastly different from telling the FBI to find someont to jail.

Yearly1845,

Man I really hope they kill that. Its extremely user unfriendly, especially in Microsoft’s configuration where they show the bsod for 0.2 seconds for rebooting.

Yearly1845,

KDE is too customizable, and often not in ways that I actually want it to be.

Yearly1845,

That’s why I just go straight to the source. Cut out the middle-woman, so to speak.

What was your most recent dream?

This post was inspired by a dream misadventure I had last night where I was just minding my own business getting gophers out of the rice field, then suddenly on the intercom/announcements (which I did not expect to have in my dream, since I was outside, not in a building), a voice said “attention, this is a representative of...

Yearly1845,

My dog and I got chased by a bear in the woods near my house. I jumped on the bear and was riding it like a horse but it was chasing my (arthritic) dog. I was yelling at my dog to keep running (I actually said that IRL lol) before I woke up.

Weird dream.

Yearly1845,

I use flatpak vim. Works fine as long as you don’t need to edit system files.

Yearly1845,

Because Matrix can’t stick to a single thought and they completely refactor their codebase every year or two and I’m not convinced they are going to be reliable in the long run.

Yearly1845,

vox-el-lee-bruh

You’re still saying the L twice.

Yearly1845,

I see. Yes, that makes sense. Thanks for clearing that up for me.

Yearly1845,

Boats? Lol boats get like six gallons to the mile

Yearly1845,

my coping mechanism for this is to save after every change. it’s reflexive now. I lost a LOT of work in the floppy days; so much lost work.
