My parents grew up in communism, and its true it did ruin some countries but it helped out too, its important to not keep this conversation black and white and use communism or capitalism as the ultimate solution to very difficult problem.

I’ve been using Invidious and NewPipe to watch YouTube for a long time. I don’t use an account with either of these. However, I’m wanting to get recommendations based on what I watch and my subscriptions. LibreTube looked promising but it no longer works. When I try to watch videos it won’t play. YouTube Vanced is dead....
I didnt say that i allways use my instance, i use some of the public ones too with very few being slow due to many people using them. If one doesn’t work try another.
The underlying issue is youtube rate limiting the video proxy, so if the instance is trying to play 10 videos at once it will get ratelimited.
The solution to such problem is either complicated or simple. The simple one is try to convince your favorite creators to use other platform then youtube for example peertube, Odysee or rumbl.
I currently work at an electronic’s store where this is a reality. God, I hate it there It’s offset by how nice some of the colleges are but the sales person tactics that you need to use when the manager is in the store are like 50 questions with each needing 5x no as an answer, or you need to push harder.
I almost vomit at the site of consumerist uneducated environment hating people who do blindly believe what they are told. I try my best to educate some of them so that they make educated choices and are not swindled.
We are told to push a certain in-house brand that is just Chinese crap that always breaks is with 200% markup. Same with the extended warranty.
The best thing is I have more knowledge than any of the staff there. I’m always told when I suggest something to a senior employee in front of a customer that they “know” what is better, and it’s unprofessional to correct a more senior college. A clown show of sorts.
I have seen many people in this community either talking about switching to Brave, or people who are actively using Brave. I would like to remind people that Brave browser (and by extension their search engine) is not privacy-centric whatsoever....
