1/ Finished a long post while watching the sunset over the lake (see previous post).

It was challenging to write, and not just because of its personal and vulnerable nature.

I'm probably going to split this into two separate pieces for my Medium page, but I wanted to share the full version on my blog (since I guess that's what it's for). It probably should be two separate posts, but there is something about the juxtaposition between the two parts that is, I think, very apt.

abejaclaustro,

@JosephMeyer @nathanlovestrees @writingcommunity

both of you… 🫂

but… this especially… “if I can live for 95 years my daughter might not have to live long without me” 😔🫂

A federal judge has ruled Florida’s ban on gender-affirming care for minors is likely unconstitutional and has issued an injunction halting enforcement of the ban.

Happy Pride, and thank you, federal judiciary!

abejaclaustro,

@georgetakei meh. the initial ban did what the gov needed and wanted it to do. that was a political signal to supporters, knowing full well it wasn’t lawful.

meanwhile, the crowd that’s celebrating are putting a bit much into a hollow victory over this very real wedge issue.

a lovely, longtime is joining .

she has and is without community. she’s hoping to find people who understand her exhaustion and medical involvement.

would any of you be willing to offer suggestions for instances?

maybe instances where people with physical and gather? in a environment, with very tight rules against bullying and extremism?

The medical community not wearing masks is not safe, not intelligent enough to actually effectively care for you, cannot be trusted ethically in the charge of your care, and should be written off as reckless vectors of disease, chronic illness, and death at every level from EMT to MD/DO.

From the CDC to your general practitioner.

My doctor resigned in protest of unsafe working conditions, and his replacement is an unmasked clown.

abejaclaustro,

@hannu_ikonen @dancinyogi for both of my parents, i reported their hospital-acquired COVID as “adverse events.” who knows whether the reports mean anything. i did it anyway. something others could consider, maybe…

abejaclaustro,

@hannu_ikonen anecdotal w no proof of my claim:

i did ask several residents, PAs, & CRNPs (the sum of hands-on & visible HCWs at our local hospital), “why no mask?” every one looked under-50. every made some kind of snide remark about surviving the pandemic, and thus having no fear. several said that only the “weak” (compromised &/or elderly) were in danger of “complications or death,” & one said outright… if his boss doesn’t mandate or provide masks… he “doesn’t care either”
