Honestly, this is a great move. Now they can say that Pierre wants to take money out of everyday Canadian pockets by taking away their carbon rebates. They should have done this ages ago
The Broken Earth trilogy by N.K Jemisin. Though there’s a good chance you’ve read it as the trilogy won three peat Hugo awards. Progressive attitude and powerful female characters fits the bill here.
In reference to “Games-as-a-Service,” we simply plan to continually update the game for many years to come, just like the previous two Subnautica games. Think our Early Access update model, expanded. No season passes. No battle passes. No subscription.

I think ageism is going to be the final frontier of prejudice. I see folks who advocate for every other kind of acceptance just absolutely bash older generations and vice versa. Nothing unites us quite like our disdain for people who aren’t roughly the same age as us.
But the truth is we’re all equally shitty. If some divinity snapped its fingers and swapped entire generations through time, none of us would do any better or worse than the generations whose place we were taking the place of.
I just wish we could collectively do less finger pointing and more collaborative problem solving.

I’m building a gaming PC for my Dad and am planning to install Nobara for him. For one he doesn’t know what a “repo” is much less a kernel or Proton-GE.
But for two, I use it myself because I’m lazy. I appreciate that someone takes the time to patch things to work optimally out of the box. Sure I could patch things myself, but I’m not in tune with the latest state of drivers and proton and workarounds for Linux gaming. I won’t notice if new patches are needed or old ones are no longer needed.
It’s nice that I can leave all that to GloriousEggroll.
Those options seem fine for a poll imo. If you ask the same question to older demographics and more people pick “enemy”, then isn’t the conclusion in the headline valid?
apparently this is in response to a few threads on Reddit flaming Starfield—in general, it’s been rather interesting to see Bethesda take what i can only describe as a “try to debate Starfield to popularity” approach with the game’s skeptics in the past month or two. not entirely sure it’s a winning strategy,...
With Meta beginning to test federation, there's a lot of discussion as to whether we should preemptively defederate with Threads. Lots of people here worried about Meta destroying their space, and rightly so.
But I see this from another lens. This is what success for the fediverse looks like. The fediverse was never going to compete with the big players in social media. But it can influence them to be less shitty.
Is this a threat to the fediverse as we know it? Absolutely. But we have the opportunity to make things better for several orders of magnitude more people than are currently here. To me that is a risk worth taking and fighting for.
I’m not saying everyone should roll over and do whatever Meta wants. There’s going to be tension and we are going to need to fight them tooth and nail on many things. But let’s at least participate.
