@amerpie That I understand, I was getting overwhelmed trying to read way too many articles and blogs and decided to set a time limit, which works better for me.
I have referred to my wife, the ultra-running grandma, as Wonder Woman for years. Today a gift from a random Internet stranger arrived in the mail. Things like this chase the toxic away.
🚴 So my daughter and her family (all cyclists) are going to France in July and they don't plan to see a single stage of the Tour de France and I don't understand where I failed as a parent.
@greg One of my cycling buddies went a few years back and came back amazed at the size of the riders. He said most of them are as big as your average middle schooler. Even Mighty Mark Cavendish, the sprinter, was tiny he said.
I will always believe we should honor fallen troops by doing everything we can to make sure no one ever dies in dubious future wars. When we sacrifice our young people, it should mean something lasting. This is my grandmother’s brother, Gratton McFadyen, who died fighting fascists in Italy.

Our grandson Connor is kind of stoic and not given to big expressions of emotion, but last night when he found we’d been able to get a car for him that can be outfitted with the hand controls he needs because of mobility issues, he was all smiles. I can’t tell you how much I love this picture.
💻 And on Day Three our student worker quit after finding out that the IT department contains the people who pick up and move surplus computers, arrange keyboards on shelves and spool up old network cables. He thought we did sexy stuff like fighting Russian hackers in epic battles all day, every day.
