Big day: saw a baby that shares some of my genes in a only-slightly-roundabout fashion.
Big head, not much hair, tiny feet/hands, alternated between being audibly upset and sleeping: yup, that's a baby.
(Also describes me, but like, who's counting.)
Torn between "well at least /someone/ is carrying on the family name” and “gonna feel /so/ bad for this kid once they grow up enough to see the ugly future staring them in the face”.
RIP, Hotel Pennsylvania. You were too nasty for this world. Also too in the way of whatever generic modern monstrosity will be developed on top of your grave.
Practicing “just do a 'good enough' job" (VERY DIFFICULT if you are a me) by only doing most of the weedwhacking (and resultant leafblowing) instead of all of it.
Was chatting about #YokoKanno at dinner one PyCon evening (pretty sure with @davidism) and it struck me today (as my “anime OP/ED" playlist was playing) that we never brought up one of my favorite Kanno works, the #TurnAGundam soundtrack.
Especially the main theme, "Moon”, whose vocal performance is credited to one Gabriela Robin…eventually revealed to be a pseudonym of Kanno herself! Turns out she can compose /and/ sing (and how.)
Home, tired. Downside of mere 6-day trips (especially ones where 2 full days are travel) is they're /just/ long enough to get used to the new context, and then BLAMMO, it gets taken away again.

Also, Pennsylvania is very pretty to drive through…IF you can ignore the repetition of
Jesus billboard
Gun billboard
Child abuse billboard
Trump billboard
in various combinations.
And? Highly amusing: as soon as one gets within 20 miles of the NJ border, /all/ the drivers speed way up.
Time to pretend my home office is a spaceship (or a cyberpunk apartment, also I need to get back to CP2077) while I isolate from my spouse for the next 3-5 days.
Good thing it sounds like cats cannot transmit the plague, so I can still see them at least.
@onelson@basepi anyway so the "regular teas" (typically peach, sometimes raspberry or lemon flavored) still have cane sugar added, but “merely" 36-ish grams.
