blujan,

I hadn’t heard that it is antiseptic, only aseptic.

blujan,

Right wing in mexico is not as extreme as the one in the US, though (even then I don’t like them), but what needs to be clear is that although the current party in position is very left (which is great) it’s not really progressive other than in labor areas. I don’t like sheinbaum specifically and I think morena could do better than her or the current president as it has shown from their legislative branch but politics in Mexico right now are very weird.

blujan,

In spanish there’s mujer for woman and hembra for female (but only for animals and tools), their opposites are hombre for man and macho for male (this one can be used for humans but it’s despective nowadays).

To ask a persons sex you would use femenino (feminine) or masculino (masculine) where it doesn’t have anything to do with preference or gender roles as it does in english.

blujan,

When referring to sex feminino and masculino are used, when it comes to gender you use mujer and hombre. You could say mujeres are hembras of the homo sapiens species, but you wouldn’t say it out of a specific academic setting.

Even doctors use “sexo femenino” when talking about women in an anatomical way.

blujan,

In mexico they only offer the most expensive trim, they sell it at about 115k usd and it’s made here…

blujan,

He doesn’t have smart lawyers, the smart ones ran

blujan,

No they are not a duck, they are the cells of a duck.

blujan,

I know several nurses who think they know more than doctors.

They all are wrong on stuff that’s so easily verifiable that I can’t believe these were in charge of whole nurse areas in important hospitals.

Knowing all this sucks.

blujan,

Actually deflation, depression is a reduction in the total throughput of a country for a prolonged period (not stational).

blujan,

It’s a bit more complex than that because for contactless payments you don’t share the card information with the vendor but an authorization token that need to be verifiable and certifiable by visa or mastercard.

So it needs to be sponsored in a way by visa or mastercard.

blujan,

Is the president all powerful and all seeing?

blujan,

She was against the church at least, not sure about against abuse…

what are .webp files and why has my online experience been plagued by them?

I don’t know what a .webp file is but I don’t like it. They’re like a filthy prank version of the image/gif you’re looking for. They make you jump through all these hoops to find the original versions of the files that you can actually do anything with....

blujan,

This is circular reasoning. They are wondering why gif is still a thing precisely because it’s so supported while other formats that are better aren’t and you are answering that it is because it’s supported while other formats aren’t.

blujan,

Man, you are such a poet, you have put it perfectly.

blujan,

I have a gas water heater on demand that is 98% efficient as it works as a furnace, and it has saved me greatly in gas costs. It only costed 200 usd and you set a temperature and it always gives that temperature. It’s pretty much instant as my plumbing is all very direct and efficiently laid out (with all wet areas in my house being in a 5 meters radius.

I pay 10 usd natural gas a month on summer (including 5 usd fixed service cost) and about 80 on winter with a gas whole home heater and a mini split (that we have 4 450watt solar panels for so we also don’t pay a lot for electricity).

We also cook with gas for three people.

Stuff can be much more efficient than it is without breaking the bank.

I used to spend about 40 usd a month on summer with a water tank heater.

blujan,

Oh yeah it is, but the article also mentions gas heaters.

Even then most americans use tanked ones and those are way more inefficient. Even now most NEW tank water heaters sold in the US are only 60% efficient.

My point is there is improvement to be made without breaking the bank.

blujan,

This is average of the whole world, including polar areas and places where right now it’s winter.

blujan, (edited )

As I understand it it also coincides with the distance to the sun and the fact that the southern hemisphere is mostly water keeps temperatures there more steady.

I was wrong on the first part, in fact the sun is closer un the southern hemisphere’s summer than in the northern, but the difference in distance is minuscule. So the only reason is the water distribution.

blujan,

I think coldest was -18°C during the coldest winter we’ve had, curiously it didn’t even feel that cold when walking outside but that might be because there was no wind and you started feeling the coldness inside you instead of outside.

Hottest is I believe around 40°C but that one’s not as crazy so I’m not really sure of the actual figure, probably higher or lower by a small amount of degrees.

blujan,

Hi! This is great, could this be worked as a team with zach who's making an android version based on the same code?
