Finally got around to trying out the Marine World expansion for

It was a blast as I assumed considering how much I love this game. Drafting the new upgraded action cards is great and adds some variety between players. I also really enjoyed the Coral reef powers.

I squeaked out a win, 21 to 16 over Linds.

Shout out to my sis who got me the xpac for Christmas! You're the best!

Hell yeah, scenario one was great. I've read TFA is tough so I'm playing it on easy. I did really well but Daisy did come close to dying. I really love Agnes and how she can go about dealing damage and becoming stronger with the more horror she experiences.

Looking forward to scenario two.

@buffyleigh Nice to hear. I've only played it solo bc my wife hasn't been up to learning ANOTHER new game lol

But hopefully, some day soon, we will try it out 2 player. Solo Mode has been fun though so I don't mind.

@buffyleigh When I do teach it, I'm curious to see how helpful the included Teaching Guide is. I think it'll be nice since I will already have a concept of what's happening in the game

After 2 test runs, completed the first scenario of

Glad I saw someone mention ArkhamHorrorDB.com because the starter decks are trash. I rebuilt Roland and Wendy using a revised starter deck list in the database, and it was night and day difference.

I love the Upgrading of cards after a scenario and the whole deck building aspect itself. Takes me back to my days 20 years ago

Scenario 1 of the "Night of the Zealot" campaign of in the books. I played with two investigators and while I was probably one turn away from killing the Ghoul Priest, these other Ghouls overran me and killed me off.

I like that even with "no resolution" you still move on to the next scenario.

Question about say I have a card in play who has text that says he gives a +1 to a combat roll. He also has the combat emblem in top left.

When I have a combat skill check, and my base is 3, the ally gives me +1 for a total of 4. Now if I commit him (meaning I will discard him after the completion of the skill check) does that give me an additional 1? Or do you either get to use the text OR commit the card?

Same q but with an activate action instead of just text

Another fun game of though I lost by a handful of points. The Queens Favor track was sort of ignored this game, which might have hurt some, but I did a lot more planting of seeds and buying developments. My starter hex only gave me two workers to start the game so that was a little challenging as well.
