RIP Mars, 2010 - 2024
This morning I found Mars run over by a car. I miss him very much. We got him from the shelter and he showed his gratitude every day. He was cuddly, playful, a rascal and very curious. Wherever I was, Mars wasn't far away and he spent many cuddly hours on my lap. I am stunned and incredibly sad. My heart is broken and I am crushed 🖤

The dog is doing much better these past two days. He was to the point of not eating until I got the idea to try feeding him small chunks of roasted chicken. After a day of that we were able to mix in his food, then today switch back to his normal food entirely. I suspect he has happy little flashbacks to a plate of shredded chicken wondering if that was all just a dream?
I gave it one day off this suspicious drug to see if things improved, but nah. I gotta go to the ER tomorrow in the states and get a CT of my abdomen. An MD friend says some diverticulitis can go sideways in creative ways, and it’s not worth the risk, since it’s the prime suspect. He says I gotta go. But I’ll wait until afternoon when I know it will be hurting when I arrive so I can make a proper entrance.
I just had another near-miss with a table saw. That’s the third one in 2 years .
A steel triangle slipped into the blade. Destroyed both. Took some shrapnel in three fingers and my forearm ,but otherwise okay. Right through the gloves.
I gotta rethink my safety procedures.
