Next was an engaging session on industrial policy for innovation at the Harvard Center for International Development with Chiara Criscuolo, Munseob Lee, Barry Naughton, and Ernesto Stein. The examination of Korea's industrial policy was particularly fascinating, especially Hitachi's critical role in making Samsung the behemoth it is today https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OtvKfONe0bs (5/8) #economics
It's fitting that on a day when I was on campus I spotted a wild beaver, and while I was enjoying the wildlife I also enjoyed listening to some talks for my #AcademicRunPlaylist! (1/10)
First was an interesting talk by David Gissen on the architecture of disability at the Global Disability Innovation Hub (GDI Hub). Architecture has engaged with accessibility well before HCI, and the insight Gissen brings here is widely applicable https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6uV0hxeChgY (2/9) #architecture#accessibility
The male turkey on our street has been busy, and while taking in the local wildlife I was able to listen to some talks for my #AcademicRunPlaylist! (1/8)
First was a slate of talks at the New York University School of Law by Marco Claudio Corradi and Julian Nowag (enforcing corporate opportunities rules), Jorge Contreras (patent hold-up), Rory Van Loo (consumer law and inequality), and John Newman (procompetitive justifications in antitrust law) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6n0lgfEIdxk (2/8)
A personal best by a decent margin for me today, clearing 46.8 mi/75 km at a good pace! Starting in Shibuya I worked my way past Yokohama and ended close to Odawara, finishing on the Pacific coast with a beach all to myself! And my longest run ever of course meant lots of talks for my #AcademicRunPlaylist!
