I know someone (well, several people actually) who will likely add the Beer O’Clock module to their personal web sites as soon as they read this post.

https://buff.ly/4dsHDgZ

Also - the Thanos module is just downright evil (like the Mad Titan, himself).

Fun blog post by Adam Evertsson

@ultimike man, we gotta do better marketing for Flush. 😂

Anyone ever opened their Shazam app in time?

chrisfromredfin,
@chrisfromredfin@drupal.community avatar

@volkswagenchick I just ask Siri “what’s this song” - helps a looooot.

Because otherwise, no.

Looking to upgrade your 7 module development skills? The folks at @talkingdrupal might be able to help:

chrisfromredfin,
@chrisfromredfin@drupal.community avatar

@ultimike @pcambra I read it the same at first… but I guess you’re upgrading them TO level 10!

While at a recent event, I was talking with some folks about various US-based Drupal events and got to thinking about what is the most consistent large Drupal event west of the Mississippi River? Colorado? Stanford? Is Drupal getting more of an East Coast focus?

chrisfromredfin,
@chrisfromredfin@drupal.community avatar

@ultimike is BADCamp still a thing? It used to be pretty big but I was never a part.

Script wrappers can help with team adoption, see Alberto Viu's new blog post, https://ddev.com/blog/extending-ddev-commands-with-scripts/

chrisfromredfin,
@chrisfromredfin@drupal.community avatar

@ddev this gives me a fantastic idea about a ddev cli tool wrapper tool for contribution. Almost a local version of DrupalPod. “dc new project_browser —with-testing” to set up all the containers and add-ons … 🤔

chrisfromredfin,
@chrisfromredfin@drupal.community avatar

@pcambra @ddev it does! I’m thinking scripting that with “what project are you working on” and “what issue number” and “what version of Drupal” (10,11) maybe that’s all just command line params that are easy enough…

I am super-proud to have @lostcarpark as an alum of DrupalEasy’s Professional Module Development course. His work in the community has been stellar and we are lucky to count him as one of our own!

@ultimike @lostcarpark a really great write-up! So happy to see Leslie’s influence in there. James, you’ve been a rock star for us at Project Browser, and an asset on a trivia team!

Runnin’ Down a Dream by Tom Petty is an excellent song to drive to, I’ve discovered today.

chrisfromredfin,

@starshaped omg I’ve been saying this forever - like quintessential driving song. In fact I think the video is an animated driving scene

Many thanks to Open Collective Europe for clarifying that they're not affected (and the drupal.community mastodon instance by extension) by the dissolution of the Open Collective Foundation, all the messages have been very confusing until now https://opencollective.com/europe/updates/regarding-the-announcement-to-dissolve-open-collective-foundation-us

chrisfromredfin,

@pcambra oh that’s great news! This mastodon instance and Kevin’s videos were the first two things I thought of

Nice list of things that might be considered trends in 2024 for , but only time will tell…

I still worry that Automatic Updates and Project Browser won’t be super-useful without support from hosting companies.

chrisfromredfin,
@chrisfromredfin@drupal.community avatar

@ultimike how so? Like needing file system write access for the web user? I haven’t tested but I would think you could use PB on Pantheon dev with SFTP mode on, for one. I wonder about some others…

Just a thing I found that fell off a truck somewhere. Install a Drupal recipe with Project Browser! Totally just a very lightweight proof of concept being toyed with to dogfood Package Manager, etc. But even seeing that this is possible is very validating of all our work.

The grumpy-looking photo of me near the bottom of this blog post pretty much sums up how I feel about calendars on sites (well, all web sites, actually).

chrisfromredfin,
@chrisfromredfin@drupal.community avatar

@starshaped @anniegreens I’ve seen/heard of tire places charging a small fee to refill your tires with nitrogen instead of air so it’s not susceptible to the shrinkage factor. Not sure if it’s snake oil or what.?

I'm looking for a new SciFi series to stream (preferably on Netflix, Prime, or AppleTv+). I've seen and really enjoyed Foundation, The Expanse, Peripheral, Dark, Sense8, Lost in Space, Upload, Umbrella Academy, Stranger Things (obviously), Another Life, and Altered Carbon (among others).

What should I check out next?

@ultimike assume you watched Last of Us and The Witcher (tho that one’s more fantasy)?
