Having a zillion back-to-back Zoom meetings is even harder when I could be outside watching bouncy baby goats!

A bunch of baby goats and the one mama goat all standing around the same farmyard. One white baby goat is trying to pull himself up onto a tiny concrete ledge next to the building.

#TrailRunning #RunningShoes – Looking for tips! 🏃‍♂️

I'm used to running 2-3 marathons a year, +10 half marathons + alpine mountain runs. The Asics Gel-Kayano was a perfect shoe for my foot condition. And I had the trail version. But with both, the durability of the sole and the inner lining is so poor that I'm not considering them anymore. Do you have tips on which other brand and model might be ideal for trail running, perhaps also coming from the Kayano?

American astronomer Annie Jump Cannon died #OTD in 1941.

Cannon developed a system of stellar classification based on spectral characteristics, which became known as the Harvard Classification Scheme (she was one of the "Harvard Computers"). She classified hundreds of thousands of stars, organizing them by temperature and spectral characteristics. Her work laid the foundation for our understanding of stellar evolution and the composition of stars.

My goats are dried off until the first babies in ~1 month, so I'm going to be using mostly plant milks for the next few weeks. What are your favourite homemade plant milks? Bonus for recipes/instructions!

I'm starting a batch of soybeans soaking now, but I've never been very happy with how my homemade soymilk comes out. It's ok in tea (a little beany-tasting, and sometimes curdles), but completely offensive in coffee. I've made oat milk too, but with even worse results than soy milk.

Today I've got a Skype a Scientist with a class in Illinois, the weekly international research group meeting that I lead, a podcast interview, a meeting to organize the workshop I'm leading next week on inviting Indigenous knowledge-keepers to your astronomy class, and a meeting to organize a workshop I'm leading on teaching climate change. And somewhere in there I need to do all my normal teaching stuff and telescope planning.

I have definitely volunteered for too many things... help...

I updated all apps on my phone and that friendly blue-white twittering bird was replaced by a brutal looking X, reminiscent of the Z on Russian tanks. Gives me a bad mood when looking at my phone. I had to move it off the front page.
I guess I’m starting to withdraw.
