I've been playing #PrinceOfPersiaTheLostCrown over the last few days and you know what? It's damn good fun. Perhaps a little talkier than I'd like, but that very small nit aside I'm having a blast and can't wait to get back to it.

Also, given I like this...and have had a blast with Ori and Hollow Knight in recent months, is it fair to assume I'm now a fan of the humble #Metroidvania?

I'm not one of these 'Oh the game was better 40 years ago' sorts but it really does seem like the art of 'taking a hit' has been lost in the modern NHL.

The amount of times this season alone I've seen players willingly put themselves into a bad spot is really worrying.

Credit to #GreatBritain who found a way to beat #Austria at the #IIHFWorlds today. Unfortunately relegation from the top group is confirmed, but they'll end their tournament with a nice win and can hold their heads high.

We're not a big #Hockey nation, but with each win comes little more experience and that counts for so much at this level.

Okay Nerds. I've got a hankering for a #Metroidvania ....but I've never really played one before (it's a blind spot).

I own Hollow Knight already, and I'm tempted to go back to that but I'm looking for some other recommendations.

What would you recommend to a total Metroidvania noob?

I've got my eye on the following: Ori and the Blind Forest, Axiom Verge and Rogue Legacy 2 (which I know is a bit different).

If you hear a politician say the words 'make tough choices', you can be fault confident they going to do something that negatively impacts the poorest in our society.

I'd argue that the 'Verified' system was already a bit of a mess.

It should mean that the game runs, and runs to a pretty solid level on Deck.

It doesn't mean that at all. It's an absolutely horrible way to work out if your #SteamDeck can play a game and at this point I've stopped using it as a guide. ProtomDB or @steamdeckhq for me.

Just finished #AGameOfThrones for the second time (first in 12 years) and I've got to say, I think I enjoyed it even more on the second go.

You see, without wanting to sound all snobby....I'm so familiar with this world that the little details that flew over my head when I first read it suddenly jump out of the page at me.

And it's really nice to see some of the ASOIAF lore was present so early in this series.

We're on round 4 (?) Of the Conservative Cabinet falling on their swords to protest something their own government is legislating for (Brexit Agreements, Bojo, The Truss Budget, and now the Rwanda plan).

It's over. Call an Election already.

This is like the first time in my 17/18 years of fandom that I won't be able to watch an #AllCaps playoff game and as much as the team sucks ass, that does make me sad.

The series itself? I still think the boys can win a game or two. Let's be honest here though, trying to beat this NY team was always going to be an uphill struggle.

This teams playoff run was just getting into the playoffs in the first place; that was the fun bit.

I'm really struggling to get into #TearsOfTheKingom and I think it's a me issue.

I struggle with games that want the player to go out and discover it for themselves. I need some direction, otherwise I end up sort of just.... Aimlessly wondering around.

I wish the game had a semi-decent photo mode. There's only so much I can do with the Xbox's screenshot functionality.

I know childcare is horrifically expensive but it does allow parents to go to work at the same time, and thus actually share the load at weekends.

When I'm not at work, my partner is at work. Seven days a week one of us is working a nine hour shift. It means one of us is running the house entirely on their own.

We don't get to share time together as a family, nor do we get to split the chores or give each other a few hours of kid free time if we need it

It sucks.

Going to say it. I've spent significant time with both #LiesOfP and #Bloodborne in the last few months and you know what? I think I prefer Lies Of P.

And I think it's purely an atmosphere thing. I just didn't enjoy Bloodborne's world nearly as much as I enjoy Lies Of P's setting.

The delightful #Toem just got added to #Gamepass. Its one of the rarest of games that I can safely say helped get me through a pretty rough time.

It's super short. Super cute. Super fun. And now super accessible for people who just want to try it out.
