First all the bs with Twitter and Elon, then Reddit having an exodus to Lemmy (not complaining lol), then Twitch. Are we like, in an alternate self healing dimension or something?
I feel like reddit power users are the only ones who might switch, normal people simply won't care. However, power users are already well aware of the coming changes, and have likely already looked for alternates by this point.
Ive seen so many reddit posts on where people are like "what's wrong with the official reddit app, it's all I've ever used"... Lemmy is much better than the official reddit experience - the issue is most niche communities that exist on Reddit have ~1-5 subscribers here, makes it kind of a hard sell.
Personally i'd way rather be in a small community filled with frequent commenters and posters than a big one where all you see is reposts and ads, however.
The Lemmy Frontpage gets cluttered really fast. Is there any way to get a better overview? Maybe a compact view without pictures. Something ike old.reddit or Hackernews....
I have been supporting Lemmy recently a lot and made posts about Lemmy that got big reach. Today, sadly the reddit account through which, I moderated a lot of subs and spent time on, comes to an end. The reason was because I spammed according to reddit, but the reality is that they have censored me because I was hurting Reddit....
I'm advertising Lemmy on every popular post on my 11 year old account.. I'm already through the painful part of the breakup, and have moved on to better things. Go ahead and ban me Reddit
I've already started seeing a lot of redundant communities being made here that have already existed on other Lemmy instances, and lemmy.ml is at risk of centralization and overload, so now is a great time to raise awareness of other instances....
I just wrote out two comments that were deleted - Imo you shouldn't be able to edit or respond to a deleted post if it's not going to work.
I made an Ableton group on lemmy.ml a few days ago..doesn't seem like it's listed though. I'll probably just delete it if you're going to operate a music specific instance
Hey there. Just started my journey with lemmy and am not so much a fan of using it in a browser. Is there some linux app I might try? (I use arch btw.)
I'm trying to get into Vivaldi - I'm really liking it so far, love the stacking tabs and tiling. I've heard some bad reviews about tabs and workspaces disappearing after updates, however.
If it doesn't go well, I'll probably go back to chrome and Firefox. Plus edge for bing I guess
I often think about stellar albums. The ones where they're really isn't a skip-able track. Off the top of my head, these come to mind: The Beach Boys Pet Sounds, Collective Soul Collective Soul (blue album), Bush 16 Stone, and Green Day Dookie. What are some of your perfect albums?
I'm genuinely so excited to see some of the more focussed communities blossom on this platform as they have on Reddit over the years. Which are your favourites and which do you think could succeed here?
Seriously, what's up with big sites literally dying as we speak?

Any way to get a Lemmy Interface like old.reddit or HN?

What is your boomer opinion
What opinion just makes you look like you aged 30 years
What niche reddit community do you want to see find a place on the fediverse?
Personally i'm looking forward to seeing twobestfriendsplay, arkhamasylum, whowouldwin, and respectthreads, on here.
Reddit has permanently suspended my account for supporting Lemmy.

what web browser do you use and why?
I use geh Firefox forks mull and fennec, I occasionally use vanadium. I just like privacy but tor is overkill for me

As an incoming Redditor who’s thrilled to see Fediverse alternatives getting some content and traction
Which subreddits would you most like to see on Lemmy?

What's your favorite Web 1.0 memory?
Prior to the internet condensing into just 5 or so websites, what do you remember fondling about being online?...
Hello Ex-Reddit people!
I saw the recent API charge news with Reddit and saw that people were discussing alternatives to Reddit in the event we all have to abandon it....
Reddit: Bad news for third-party apps, their announced pricing is close to Twitter's pricing, and Apollo would have to pay Reddit $20 million per year to keep running as-is. (mastodon.social)
