@garius my favourite piece of reviewer feedback ever was 'this reads like popular journalism'.... We made it more difficult to read and they published it with no substantive revisions.
@hilljam the only.things I can see using are tape and wasted space
On tape.side I have ik tapes (heft), chow dsp (clean), sketch cassette (lofi) and hornet (low CPU). I also have korneff alesis verb and psp 244/245 (wasted maybe in the same space). Are either of these dramatic standouts?
Its hardly surprising that women in the music industry have just as tough a time as women in any other sector....
There is nothing to suggest in the history of music that somehow this particular creative sector would have a better record on sexism, exploration & discrimination than any other part of our social economy.
Its always been a 'boys club'... so not sure this report will prompt any concerted action, but at least we cannot say we didn't know.
@ChrisMayLA6@francis speaking only for local NZ context, this kind of work has resulted in concerted efforts by sector towards safer and more inclusive professional environments.
@mxtthxw@apite yikes - I noticed the other day that my beat up script multi phaser pedal is going for 1.2k locally. That's more than I paid for a set of Telefunken preamps or a lomo bottle mic in the early aughts.
@etherdiver@mxtthxw@apite the bottom fell out of the vintage guitar market here about then - especially for the interesting middle-ground stuff. But audio gear is still commanding silly prices.
@mxtthxw@axwax I don't think anyone's done a comp with the pedals? In my last studio (5 yes back) we had the V1 pedal and a line 6 rack unit and didn't need any plugins.
@mxtthxw my wife's a public health researcher. She pointed straight to Spanish flu as an example of 'this is going to be drawn out and people will quickly stop caring and complying with common sense precautions so they can exercise individual freedoms at the expense of society'. All of this has happened before...
