I think I'm cursed. Something unlucky always happens when I work onsite. Last time, my laptop broke. This time, the zipper on my bag broke.

That's basically the position I am right now, except my co-worker is smoking with a more senior dev rather than our boss.

I've also explored AlpineJS a bit along side HTMX. It seems cool, but it's not super compatible with JSX. I might have to use a template engine instead.

Apparently, both of the people in my team are absent today, including my supervisor. So I am the only one at work.

A higher-up may or may not check in or our progress today, and I don't know what to do when that happens 😅

The way that Japanese VNs map their controls on PC is so fucking weird. I mean, using backspace instead of ESC to go back?

But easily the worst thing I've seen is having ESC be the key for exiting the game. I accidentally exited Steins;Gate 0 earlier when trying to go to the pause menu because of this. Sure, there was a confirmation dialog, but my brain automatically clicks yes for those most of the time.

IMO, you should not be able to exit the game during gameplay. The option to exit should only exist in the title screen. And you should only be able to go to the title screen through the pause menu.

I guess my new guitar will have to wait because I need to get a new laptop. I'll have to wait another year before I can save start saving up again (because that's probably how long I'll be paying for the laptop).

Hopefully I can still reach my goal of getting a guitar before 2025.

It's Sunday evening, and I have survived my first week of living alone! I'm still afraid of ghosts when I go to sleep at night, but nonetheless my body has adjusted really well to the new environment.

@teacherbuknoy 7 pesos? The cheapest I can find nowadays is 12 pesos.

I imagine cooking your own rice is much cheaper though, right? Plus, not much of a time or effort commitment (unless you don't have a rice cooker, I guess).

@teacherbuknoy We've been cooking rice on a stove top most my life. It's not really much more effort, but it does kinda limit what you can do while the rice cooks since you have to watch it.

I have spent countless hours debugging because apparently Elixir will sometimes print an integer list as characters instead. Apparently, you can specify them to be printed as an integer list, but I don't know how to do that when inspecting a struct containing the list.

@literalgrill maybe I'm weird, but I love getting my teeth cleaned. There's something weirdly satisfying about someone sticking cleaning instruments in your mouth.

@literalgrill I looked up what debridement meant and made the mistake of looking at an image.

Suffice to say, I did not stay on that track for long enough to learn what it was, but I wish you all the luck in the world.

I love how our HR's email has "Human" as its first name and "Resources" as its last.

So when I send it an email, the recepient field says "to Human".

I feel like a cat sending emails.

First time working onsite was pretty fun. It was a lot more comfortable working in an airconditioned room with decent table space. Plus, apparently, someone was celebrating a birthday, so there was food.

The only hitch was that my laptop kept going into BSOD for some reason. I had to borrow a company laptop (we're supposed to use our own computers).

I feel like I should be getting paid extra to use a new in-house framework with zero documentation. Especially since I'm expected to start using it on an actual project in a week.
