I've published a thing. It's not finished, or tested, but I'd rather have in the wild than forgotten in a cloud folder.

It's called EPIC FIVE, and it's one-rule engine to play 5E characters. Or any characters you can define with a list of traits, really.

If like me you love your D&D worlds and characters but hate Hasbro, this might be for you.

So the French made VTT Let's Role is launching today. I haven't tried it yet but their list of systems has me biased already 😆​
A search for OSR brings up DCC, Shadowdark, OSE, Mörk Borg, and even For Gold & Glory and Esoteric Enterprises!
Either they have a very diverse community, or they make it easy to create modules. I shall investigate.

The Sooth deck, my tabletop roleplaying oracle, is now working and has had enough testing (including a quick online game session with a bunch of draws) that I'm ready to start throwing it at the world; just need a deck back, and I'll be ordering some proofs from Drivethru.

While I wait on those, I'll also be building access options including print & play cards and a d66 table version.

I love these! I just drew a bunch on perchance and found them very evocative and easy to picture as resolutions or complications. DTCards still had over expensive shipping last time I checked, but I'd definitely grab a PnP version.

Légendes & Dragons, un jeu de rôle finlandais - toutes ressemblances avec un jeu de rôle existant bien connu seraient probablement fortuites, je suppose 🤣 (Musée du jeu, Tampere).

À part ça, ça m'amuse toujours autant que "dragon" se dise en finnois "lohikäärme", littéralement "serpent-saumon").

Honnêtement, des jeux existants bien connus où le serpent-saumon n'est pas présenté comme un monstre terrifiant à buter pour lui taxer son trésor, c'est plutôt rare 😁

Très bien vu mais je pensais à détrôner les dragons (les serpents saumons en finnois donc) pour une fois. Ça lui ferait sans doute du bien de dégonfler leur égo un poil.

Reading Dragonbane after obsessing over BREAK!! for the last couple weeks, I find myself wondering again why anyone would play Hasbro's Dungeons & Dragons™ when these games have so much more flavour and character. And don't get me started about the much lower investment in money and braincells to start a game!

I propose a new term to describe games that do D&D better than D&D: Fantasy Heartwarmers.

Just played around with the new Jamspace activity on Discord. Pretty handy for quick maps! You can move any object (text and emoji, one-line doodles, and gifs!) to use them as tokens.

Pretty basic so far, but if you already use your Discord channel to post images and have a dice rolling bot, what else do you need to run a game?

Things are looking up! I've extended my stay by the sea (so lucky it's something I can afford to do!) so I could either work or rest properly.

And it is starting to pay off.
Yesterday I was able to pull off a full day of work. I had to take long breaks, but there is at least one Merry Mushmen project that isn't held up by this shite.

I'm going to take it easy today, working mostly on creative, easier stuff. Also I'm going to go outside as the weather is improving.
