Even medium human writers can comprehend their work as a whole, though. There is a cohesiveness even to the bullshit. The LLM is just putting words down that match the prompt. It’s rng driven, readable Lorum Ipsum.
If the results were still edited afterwards, there may be some merit to the output, but any company going full LLM isn’t looking for quality. They want to use it to churn out endless content that they simply can’t get from even a team of humans. More than could be edited even if they kept editors on staff.
generating believable text - scams, placeholder text, and general structure
LLM generated scams are going to such problem. Quality isn’t even a problem there as they specifically go for people with poor awareness of these scams, and having a bot that responds with reasonable dialogue will make it that much easier for people to buy into it.
but any company going full LLM isn’t looking for quality.
That is true for 24h news cycle of online media, regardless LLM.
Yes, that was my point. Setting up your company to put out more content than can possibly be processed by humans is a glaring sign of their values - ie quantity far above quality.
Ok, so do you wanna talk about your terrible writing partner in school? Or “yellow press”? Or maybe the topic of the article, which isn’t journalism in the slightest? Or how about my point, which was, again, that even bad writers have context, as opposed to an LLM which is just filling in the arbitrary patterns it’s programmed to delineate. Readability is not what I’m talking about.
I trust Dan Harmon to do something interesting at the least, but man, this really doesn’t match up with the spirit of the original strips, at least in my view. Maybe this is what the creator saw all along.
Roiland, whose exit from the Adult Swim series was announced in January in light of domestic abuse charges, had voiced the title characters since its 2013 launch.
Speed Racer is such a rad movie. Definitely suffered from the tendency I noticed in the past of hyper-stylized/”weird" movies getting trashed by critics just for aesthetics. That does seem to be lessening quite a bit, given the reception to movies like you mentioned. Here’s hoping it keeps going!
Jingle All the Way (the original, not the abomination with Larry the cable guy). 19% RT.
I think most people think it’s too “weird”, but I genuinely love it. It’s got all the great 90s tropes, a cartoony core in a live action movie, an anti-consumerism message in a Christmas movie, and Phil Hartman. What’s not to love?
His net worth has only gone up since he bought it, iirc
It absolutely didn’t. His net worth dropped over 50% in the months following the purchase. It’s back up above $200b at this point according to Forbes, but he’s still down from his pre-purchase state.
Oooh, time to bring up a weird CA history thing I know - Sacramento and most of central CA is in what’s essentially a giant flood basin, and it’s flooded before! In 1862, there was a massive deluge in the state that more or less turned the center of CA into another Great Lake of the US. It also happened even worse in 1605 apparently, so everyone’s mostly wondering at what point will it happen again. Or maybe the sea will just swoop in and claim the great bowl of CA for itself.
Even if there were a non-zero amount of African slaves that somehow had a better life (and to be absolutely clear, they’re weren’t any), that in no way absolves the practice of slavery for the millions of slaves who’s lives were irrevocably harmed. And that’s not even touching on the centuries of damage that had and continues to have on the class structure of the US, but I suppose that’s the point of statements like this - they want to pretend nothing happened and nothing is wrong now. What an absolutely shit take.

I mean, this is almost certainly in an employee only area (hence the “NO CELL PHONES” reminder with it), so any “random person” reading it has most likely heard the many reminders from corporate they most assuredly get weekly.

you need a Microsoft signed stub to boot anything other than Windows on a PC
Can you expand on this? Maybe I’m just misunderstanding you, but a “pc” is not a Windows made machine. It is a collection of disparate computer parts made by different companies with no requirement to run Windows as the exclusive OS once put together.
Even on a Windows OS, I can run any program I want (that’s made to operate with Windows). I may get a warning if it’s not a “known” developer, but I can still run it. Did I miss a big update to how 11 works with unknown software or something?
