Rebooting nodes because of GPU problems is the least fun problem I have to solve lately

Why is Slack so tiring? Because it’s like having an ongoing conversation for 8 hours. 😪

We are still experiencing issues due to the outage. We have people looking into it and trying to sort it out ASAP.

@launchpadstatus thanks for the update!

Using graphite.dev has completely transformed my life as a software engineer. It lets me write code like I'm writing a book, each chapter is a PR. I feel like it's one of the superpowers I can use.

I got my ticket for @pycon in Pittsburgh! This will be my first in-person Pycon after 3 years online. I'm super excited to meet up with past colleagues and make some new friends 😺

I can't wait to see what talks folks come up with this year! I'm also excited to participate in the auction. Gonna be a fun conference in May :python:

It's been one year and one month since I left Twitter for Mastodon. It's been a great decision! I feel like I get better content on Mastodon and the people are nicer ❤️

Being the odd one out in India and Japan never bothered me, because I always felt like the odd one out at home in the US anyway.

Pinterest is the only social media that I feel helps my mental health. Mostly because it’s less social.

The irony of this post is noted.

I guess it shows my age, but I never knew that the summer and winter used to be hosted together in the same year until 1994, which began alternating.

Data was analyzed with and https://noteable.io.

I was also curious to see if the 80/20 rule held for each country's number of medals won. If the top 20% of countries had 80% of the medal count, sure enough, It does! Twenty-two countries account for 80% of all medals won.

elijahwilson,
@elijahwilson@fosstodon.org avatar

The 80/20 principle holds true for all medal types. 19 countries holding 80% of the gold medals, 23 countries for silver medals, and 24 countries for bronze medals. It's also interesting to see how this number increases based on the difficulty of winning each medal (gold being the hardest).

I've been using since 2014 and I like the new UI update 🤷 Seems like I'm in the minority here, but I think it's a good change.

.@deno_land 1.37 was released today with support for notebooks! This is builtin to deno with a simple deno jupyter --unstable!

Read the blog post here: https://deno.com/blog/v1.37
Deno is also available in noteable.io now too! Use libraries like d3.js and more in your notebooks. https://platform.noteable.io/blog/experimenting-with-deno-notebooks

@orsinium It's a dark pattern that I hope goes away. How can I recommend software to my team if I can't even try it out!?

I've been using WSL on Windows 10 for a week now for my side project, and it's surprisingly lovely. If this was around ten years ago, I might not have switched to macOS and Linux.

Noteable released a paid plain recently, for $30/mo you'll be able to run unlimited* small GPU kernels for your notebooks: https://noteable.io/pricing/

*Only 1 concurrent GPU is allowed

One of my favorite features of Noteable is the ability to have charts automatically created from your data: https://noteable.io/data-prism/

I'm really bad figuring out how my data can be displayed in a chart, but data prism makes it easy!
