I guess it shows my age, but I never knew that the summer and winter #olympics used to be hosted together in the same year until 1994, which began alternating.
I was also curious to see if the 80/20 rule held for each country's number of medals won. If the top 20% of countries had 80% of the medal count, sure enough, It does! Twenty-two countries account for 80% of all medals won.
The 80/20 principle holds true for all medal types. 19 countries holding 80% of the gold medals, 23 countries for silver medals, and 24 countries for bronze medals. It's also interesting to see how this number increases based on the difficulty of winning each medal (gold being the hardest).

@colo_lee Thanks! It's our first year with a garden, so I'll be interested to see how it compares to next year. I'm already thinking of how I can expand our gardening space...
Today we got our first harvest of okra! We also learned that, like tomatoes, okra is technically a fruit since it’s the seed bearing part of the plant 🌱 🤓
I saddened to hear of Kevin Mitnick's passing this past week. I know he inspired many people to become programmers, including myself. His legacy will live on!
My favorite story from his autobiography was when he hacked someone and the government was watching everything he typed. He somehow noticed this and typed "Stop watching me" 😎
Over 3 years of dodging Covid, my wife and most of my family got it from a late 4th of July party this past weekend. There was clearly someone there who was getting over some sickness. I would’ve thought after 3 years of this shit, people wouldn’t go out if they’re sick…
I had fun last night talking about #ChatGPT plugins with the Michigan Python group. Thanks to @danyeaw for organizing the meetup and recording the talks!
