I was on the hype train for crypto back in 2016 and realized too late that it wasn't useful. I have seen firsthand how tools like ChatGPT are going to change the world for the better.

It's hard for me to believe any company coming out of YC and claims to be "open source" https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=36061344

Being funded by VC first and trying to be open source is going to be very hard. Starting open source, then being funded is more realistic, but I still worry about projects like pydantic getting VC funding.

People should get paid for their work, but VCs are not aligned with open source communities.
