Heads up if you're using Github's super-linter action. It seems to have broken globally due to a repo name change: https://github.com/super-linter/super-linter/issues/4150

Wooo, let’s go @willingc 🎉

elijahwilson,
@elijahwilson@fosstodon.org avatar

@willingc motivation is what brought me to too. I was able to write software to solve interesting problems for myself. My first project wanted to be “Jarvis” from iron man… didn’t get there, but it opened so many doors for me in my life ❤️

The Python web framework is really interesting! It has a runtime and doesn’t require an ASGI server like hypercorn or uvicorn.

Great talk from ✨✨

Questions to the : What are the different python build systems do you use to build your package?

  • pip
  • poetry
  • flit
  • hatch

^^ to name a few. In the reply can you please tell me what do you use? I am trying to come up with a good list of such projects.

Please share the toot for more reach.

@kushal I've been using poetry for a while now, and it's hard to find something else that works as intuitively. I have encountered occasional issues around when it takes to resolve dependencies, but it's infrequent.

Loving this distributed systems talk by @andrew about reconciliation at . I love how he’s bringing it back to how it’s related to mastodon and activitypub too.

elijahwilson,

@andrew looking forward to checking out @takahe too. This is a fantastic use case and implementation 🚀

“Remember, there's no universal solution.
Just please, please, avoid building a mess of microservices that do RPC calls”

Fantastic advice.

Loving this this talk on plugins at by @bizonka.

Building in I’m often faced with struggling on when to advocate for features vs. plug-ins.

@pycon

elijahwilson,

@erinmikail @bizonka @pycon this was a fantastic talk! Can’t wait to add plug-in support to my own packages 📦 🚀

So I found out today I have a lazy eye, farsightedness, and nearsightedness 😂 oh, and no depth perception.

Better late than never I suppose?

And this explains why 3D movies/TV was never that cool to me…

I’m blown away by the DVC talk at . Maybe it’s because the speaker combined my two favorite topics: Pokémon and Python.

I disagree a little bit that jupyter notebooks aren’t good for reproducibility; I think when used with data pipelines they’re fantastic for reproducibility.

It makes me so happy to see mentioned at ! There's still a long road to make this as easy as verifying when doing a pip install foo, but this is great progress. 🙌

Be sure to stop by the noteable.io booth at @PyConUS! You can talk to Dave and Pierre about all things notebooks.

@eteq fantastic to see how notebooks are used to interact with JWST data

Excited for @pycon tomorrow! This will be my 3rd year attending online and I'm appreciative that this is still an option. I'm hoping to make it in person to Pittsburgh next year 🤞
