Out and about on a little urban #kayak tour today on this sunny day in #Berlin.

The wind had become quite strong in the course of the morning as well as the waves from motor boats (that hit you multiple times because of the reflection at the steel piling) so my decision for an early bird activity was really good.

Tempelhof harbour, a long white building and former depot is the architectural centre, right to a light gray concrete box that is the Tempelhof harbour shopping centre; several motor boats are moored at the small marina
a small blue inflatable kayak on a canal with trees and scrub to both sides, one tower block peeks out on the left side ahead
the kayak on land next to the canal under a small metal bridge, the sun reflects on the water surface in the background, there is not a single cloud at the sky

I got rid of the old uncomfortable sofa almost two weeks ago and I've been trying to find a new one since that is not massive and ugly. Oh boy, I didn't expect it to be that complicated...(no, it's not me! :blobcatderpy: )

Now off heading to the furniture store on Saturday...wish me luck.

huch, seit wann hat thunderbird denn filter regel zeugs :o
grad forward nicht als sieve filter gefunden aber thunderbird kann das! grad mal testweise meinen releases ordner nach things3 schicken lassen xD
(allerdings muss ich zugeben "Fwd: [Chocobozzz/PeerTube] Release v6.0.4 - v6.0.4" als titel ist auch nicht soooo toll)

I've been doing the Duolingo Norwegian course and also have started with Danish (but unambitious tbh) and have become quite good at reading but really struggle to follow spoken conversations (also why do you Norwegians talk so fast? :blobcatdizzy:).

I guess it's similar the other way round.

@thor My perspective:
I started with the Norwegian language first and cycled extensively through Denmark in the last two summers and got along really well - because written Danish is just Norwegian with a bit different spelling here and there but one usually get the overall context.
(Does this get me a travel ban in Denmark now? 😅 )

My first four-day trip went really well. I did the 100 km long "Witches' Trail" in the Harz mountains in four stages sleeping in not very well-maintained shelters.
I think with the route knowledge I have now the trail is also doable in three days.

Still got some cleanup to do so I will probably post some pictures and gear related stuff during the next days...

That's why I came up with the idea of mounting one solar panel to the inside. Its contribution to the overall outcome is slight but how do they say: many watts make a kilowatt or something like that...

@ubo This exactly. In densely built up areas you won't find many ideal places so one should be able to adjust to conditions and expectations (being realistic probably helps a lot 😅).

    I removed a long-time friend from my phone and my computer. We've known each other for 20+ years. We talk quite a bit. But he's not really there for me. I don't need friends who never show up.

    I tried to set up a date to meet in 6 months. He tried to talk himself out of it. He would not propose another time after saying that the date I proposed was inconvenient.

    Just lots of excuses. Something about wife and children.

    He made excuses for the music project I tried to involve him in this weekend too. He delivered something, but all sorts of things got in the way for him, so he wasn't really able to help much.

    We spent a lot of time together in the past, but it's been getting rarer and rarer. And I've changed a bit. The reason we became friends in the first place isn't really there anymore.

    @thor The current weather situation has been dominated by low-pressure area carrying massive amounts of precipitation for weeks now.
    You get snow, further down here it's been raining intensely lately, with large flooding areas.
    The forecast predicts changing conditions to cold high-pressure weather for the weekend. So we get a break from rain and hopefully decreasing water levels but I guess you keep the snow on the streets...

    @thor Serious question: would the scenario have been easier if it had been just a few degrees warmer and everything would have poured down as rain?

    On the one hand snow cleaning of roads/infrastructure/roofs is crucial, people might get trapped in their houses and/or even cut off from electricity.

    On the other hand massive rainfalls may cause flooding areas not only near rivers. I also think of landslides of highly water-saturated soil which can be seriously dangerous and difficult to clear.
