@dimillian @MonaApp Have to admit that the slight stutter really is the only actual Ice Cubes flaw that I’ve come across, and it’s definitely far less than it was in the early versions. While I’d be happy to see it gone, it’s not serious enough to put me off the app.

    I can't wait for reliable self-diagnosis health AI. Doctors are in limited supply and have very limited time for each patient. I've been disappointed with doctor appointments all my life. AI will have unlimited time for you and all your medical and health-related questions.

    @dimillian Sure, once they have cameras, mics, thermometers, etc all set up to fully analyse their patients, identify all the tiny little differences in affect, work out what the patients isn’t saying, what they actually mean from what they say, what they’re actively lying about, and what their body language is saying about any pain or other symptoms. And even then legal and insurance will mean they have to hedge massively on the “safe” side and send every second person straight to emergency, just in case…

    @dimillian @lars Maybe it’s different here. A large part of medical training (particularly for those going into GP work) involves learning how to read patients, and pick up on the non-verbal queues, knowing what further questions to ask, and so on. Plus initial consultations are longer appointments specifically to give the doctor more time for this initial investigation.
    Plus on the AI side, they’re always going to be way less accurate on anyone away from the norm. Just can’t see it ever being accurate enough for everyone to be able to trust it.

    @neoncrypt @edwellbrook True, I found that out the hard way with some old discs. It’s really only useful for straight “simplicity” (and new CDs).

    okay people: i wanna finally get on the yubikey train and i currently have in my possession a usb-a non-nfc one and i'm wondering how much of a pain in the ass that's gonna be vs a usb-c+nfc one and if i wanted to do this today how much more of a pain in the ass will it be to switch? (and furthermore where in toronto can i physically obtain the latter today and not have to wait for it to ship? google is failing me here)

    @doriantaylor Since my iPhone 15 upgrade I no longer ever need the NFC. If you’re not in the same boat, I’d go for the NFC version just to be safe. I’d also recommend getting a pair of them, configuring both any time you add a new FIDO2/passkey. If you did want to add or switch to a different YubiKey down the track, it’s a case of logging into every system you configured to use the first one with and adding a second key to it. Non-trivial, but straightforward enough.
