The local elections were dominated by wins for parties that support trans rights. A single-issue transphobe candidate got absolutely trounced. Your Tufton Street friends have got it wrong. There isn't a huge appetite for transphobia in this country. There are a tiny number of very vocal transphobes who make a lot of noise, but most people are either supportive or don't really think about it. Then again, keep being deranged and broadcasting your cruelty, it will cost you even more votes.
Still waiting on the local election results where I am, predicted to be announced at 19:00. The council website is showing turnout data for most, but not all, areas (including a miscalculation) so I'm guessing it won't be soon, but would also like to know if I should keep checking tonight or wait until tomorrow.
