Wild how it took so long to do something so simple. Not that I long to visit the byward Market but Majors Hill or Rideau Falls were rarely on the list of destinations if this was the direction of travel. But this makes basic access possible especially with the bridge open and the new NCC lookout on the +50% complete?? status

PP going on an anti public service rant this morning, among other lies, claiming that the public service doesn't do anything more than it did in 2015.

Canada's population has grown by 15%.

Core inflation over that period is 28%.

The feds now run public dental, daycare, and pharmacare programs.

They built a $40B pipeline for Alberta.

They spent 3 years bailing out conservative commercial landlords during the pandemic.

Every dollar spent went into the private sector.

Today was the first day of in , so I went to the local Metro (Beechwood Ave), and after wandering the store, was absolutely flummoxed to discover that nearly everything we regularly purchase was less expensive at our local Loblaws (Rideau St).

I didn't see that coming. After thinking about it a bit, I suspect it might have to do with the location of the Metro (Beechwood/Rockliffe is well-to-do).

Will have to look at a map and see where the next closest one is. ๐Ÿค”

@WTL we had the inverse experience moving from the Glebe (Loblaws at Isabella) to Britannia (Lincoln Fields Metro). Metro was 15 -20% cheaper. Vastly different neighbourhood demographics but it was still shocking.

With the ยซ news ยป that 3 days back in the office is looming, Iโ€™m pleased to report that in the 455 days since our mandated return to office, I have spent $0.00 supporting businesses on office days and riding my bike is free.

This rate of spending will continue no matter how many days they force us to return.

I can keep this up until I retire.

And probably will because I couldnโ€™t afford it even if I wanted to now. Thanks, .
