So, @FediTips or anyone who might know: I ran a this morning & there were a couple people whose responses I did not see in (basically, showing a delay of 10-16 minutes). The 2 people were on the same server, BUT others on that server could be seen in real time. They were also on 2 different continents (1 in Europe & 1 who only lives an hour from me in the US).

What, if anything, can be done about this lag? What might be the cause of it?

As a host since 2018, it's expanded my knowledge & my horizons.

And this past year, I'm especially grateful for this Mastodon community. It's been fun watching slowly grow & take hold. I'm looking forward to 2024! @genchat
