We have a new song with #KristSingto. I dunno if it'll be the main theme for #TheExMorning, but either way, I'm getting what I hoped for.
Also, I was not prepared for Singto's vocals.
There's something in his tone I like, and find soothing. Someone with better understanding of vocal terminology can probably name it. But as of yet, I'm not that person. :blobcatfingerguns:
@glitchontwitch Timbre may be the word you're looking for.
Krist's vocals in the start are very crisp, that will help with learning :)
Thanks for sharing this
I dunno if I've mentioned her before (and a cursory search points to no), but I wanted to call attention to #InnahBee and her cover dances. Not all of them are #KPop, but most are.
Question time: The cast of We Are having multiple people who usually play the supportive friend role playing romantic leads this time around has me thinking...
Are there any supporting actors that you would like to see in a main role, for whatever reason?
(Natch, with the understanding that there are plenty of meaty roles that don't require being the romantic lead -- and in fact some supporting roles fit that bill.)
I realize this may seem obvious but from what I’ve seen on lives, some people have difficulty with this, and I’m trying not to be a jerk about it, so:
It’s okay to be sad that two artists whom you are used to collaborating together, stopped. It’s okay to have an emotional reaction when your faves break up.
From idols groups, to acting ships, to a world famous dancing duo who were openly a couple, quietly breaking up, personally and professionally.
@glitchontwitch i wrote something longer to explain my thoughts better. am going to let it sit and come back to it again to make sure it's hopefully good enough before i send it to you.
@glitchontwitch Yep. This is something that will forever cycle in fandoms. There will always be new and/or young fans who need to be taught how to respectfully consume material and what is ok to approach creators with.
You know that one of the most difficult things for me and #writing is?
Making decisions.
When writing, there’s a certain amount of collapsing possibilities, things that depend on other things so the more things are set, the more they set other things in order to be a cohesive whole.
Even just writing a scene narrows it down from the nebulous idea of the scene.
And that part is tricky for me. I have a habit of writing multiple versions of a scene. But that just makes branching stories.
@glitchontwitch Difficulties with decision making is one of my most significant problems and the hardest for most to understand. i started figuring it out when colouring-in books were a recommended thing for destressing and i'd get stressed out because it was so. many. decisions.
i can't write plot for other reasons but not bothering with it much does dodge collapsing possibilities. Conventions are over-rated, can you use your cognitive quirks to write outside-the-conventions stories?
@glitchontwitch i don't have any solutions. i've just withdrawn from most hot button conversations. no point in trying to contribute anything when it will just be read as if it were whatever turns me into an enemy to be taken down.
it's such a mess.
@glitchontwitch Can you do 12-15 minutes? I found one on youtube called You and My Stars ('Space' is 1st, 'Begin' is 2nd). By a group called Mind Trio, really impressed by the quality of their work.
It was very good for an evening when I didn't have the energy for big feels.
@emmaaum I’m actually not sure. I know something I’ve either watched or tried to watch, is, but I can’t remember which. I just remember bc I tried to watch it and couldn’t focus on it enough to engage with the story. If I’m thinking of the same show, that is.
@glitchontwitch No idea. All I know is it has very mixed reviews and a young Khaotung, and when I go look at its page I remember there's a warning tag I don't like which is why I haven't watched it yet, and there's a sequel or something which I also haven't seen because I always think, oh I should watch the one with baby Khaotung first and then I remember why I haven't. It's a bit of an endless circle 😂
@emmaaum I feel a little silly that I thought Nhai was just clumsy enough to trip while sitting before considering that Ai might be being a jackass.
To be fair, Nhai is very much a flake. That’s kind of his thing. He’ll drop things he just picked up bc he’s careless. He can get lost anywhere. And he’s always losing a plastic duck his father got him to teach him responsibility.
He’s also an aeronautical engineer major in college.
“[Paired acting duo] now dating after being caught kissing in public.” Weird how the video thumbnail has:
• one picture of them kissing — from the show that popularized them
• one picture of them being cute together at a fanmeeting — you can see their in-ear headphones!
• a solo promo picture of one of them
Seems legit.
I hate stuff like this. It comes up so often. They’re just there to scam whatever ad revenue they can off of clicks. And presumably it’s profitable enough to keep at it.
There’s more I can pick apart about the practice of these videos and how they parallel tabloids without the budget.
And some thoughts about how much of themselves performers do share just by being performers and maybe it’s a good idea to let them set the pace for that, instead of trying to grab more.
Like, when I say I aggressively “don’t care” if they’re dating or not, it’s not that I’m hostile to them dating— or not dating. I’m not even hostile to finding out that they’re dating. Good for them, etc.
But I am hostile to the flurry of people who insist on making it my business (which it isn’t) for their personal gain, ideological or financial.
Thought: Languages have textures, particularly when spoken by native speakers. But a lot of the language learning tools don’t have the same texture, like it’s sanded down to be more easily understood by someone who doesn’t speak it yet.
Because I’m learning Korean, and watching Korean media, it’s easier to spot in that context. But also, remembering how both Duolingo and Rosetta Stone’s Spanish lessons sound, it happens there too. There’s a flow that’s missing.
