Man muss den Deutschen Bauernverband kritisieren und vor den rechten Umtrieben warnen, die nicht in einer "Unterwanderung" aufgehen.
Es ist aber ebenso wichtig, etwa die junge Arbeitsgemeinschaft bäuerliche Landwirtschaft zu unterstützen und ihnen Gehör verschaffen - auch der Initiative "Faire Mobilität" beim DGB.

@istuetzle ich finde ja diese "wir sind für fossile subventionen, weil das nützt dem klimaschutz garnicht die zu streichen"-argumentation eher abendteuerlich, und finde die ganzen bio-landwirtschaftsverbände bekleckern sich in der debatte auch nicht mit ruhm.

Heute vor 15 Jahren, am 3. Januar 2009, hat eine Person mit dem Pseudonym Satoshi Nakamoto den Bitcoin Gensis-Block erzeugt und damit den Crypto-Hype gestartet.

Blockchains, Bitcoin und seine Epigonen, haben seitdem eine gigantische Menge Umweltverschmutzung erzeugt, die aktuelle Ransomware-Welle enabled und jede Menge anderes Cybercrime ermöglicht.

Legale und sinnvolle Nutzungen von "Blockchain"-Technologien hat in diesen 15 Jahren noch niemand gefunden.

Hmja, dann jetzt auch Covid-positiv. Datenpunkt: Wir sind hier grad 2 Leute positiv im Nasentest, negativ im Rachen/Lollitest... gibt es da erkenntnisse zur aktuelle zuverlässigkeit von lollitests? Funktionieren die bei aktuellen varianten schlechter?

Security vulnerabilities in Antivirus software are no big deal, right? I mean, they never get exploited for real, right? Like this one, where Barracuda just ran a random, unaudited perl library with eval in it as part of its Antivirus, and then some malware used it. I think at past ccc's there were slides on the beamer during idle time, and one could send slides for that. Anything like that this year? (Thinking about sending a slide "sorry, I couldn't do my talk due to covid, but here you can read about it" or something like that.)

There's a bit of a controversy how SEC Consult handled disclosure of SMTP Smuggling vulns. SEC Consult has not published a test tool to check whether servers are affected. I have hacked together something quickly, please consider it work in progress, but I hope it helps people: https://github.com/hannob/smtpsmug (but please note it does not test the postfix mitigation right now, I may add a check for that later)

Wenige Tage bevor alle Systemadministratoren sich zu ihren Familien in die verdienten Weihnachtsferien zurückziehen, lässt SEC Consult die Bombe platzen: Die Antispam-Massnahmen der weitverbreitesten Mailserver können ausgehebelt werden, sogar die Vortragsreise ist schon geplant. Nur: Der weitverbreiteste Mailserver weiss davon nichts, seine User sind ungeschützt.

@bjoern lange wege werden öfter mit dem auto zurückgelegt, es subventioniert generell längere arbeitswege, was mit mehr emissionen einhergeht. ein "sozialer ausgleich" ist es auch nicht, denn leute mit langen arbeitswegen verdienen meist mehr.

Ich will Smartphone mit Desktop-App verbinden. Smartphone sagt ich soll in der Desktop App "Smartphone as a card reader" oder "Manage pairings" aufrufen und dort sei eine Liste von devices in der ich mein Smartphone auswählen soll. Das erste ("Smartphone as a card reader") gibt es, eine Liste von Devices gibt es dort aber nicht. Hatte das schonmal jemand? (Ja, sind im selben WLAN.)

Ein paar Fragen an meine Follower, falls Ihr Ökostrom bezieht: 1. Glaubt Ihr dass Ihr "echten Ökostrom" bezieht? 2. Könntet ihr eine eindeutige Definition geben was "echter Ökostrom" ist? 3. Würdet Ihr davon ausgehen dass "echter Ökostrom" effektiv Doppelanrechnungen verhindert? (etwa dass der Strom den ihr nominell bezieht in Norwegen in Firmenbilanzen auftaucht?)

During a press trip to Iceland last year, I noticed something that looked very strange: Within the country, practically every large electricity consumer would claim that they use renewable energy. Of course: Iceland's grid is entirely powered by hydropower and geothermal energy. But at the same time, green electricity from Iceland is sold in EU countries through certificates called "Guarantees of Origin". It appeared that the same green electricity was sold twice. 🧵

It looked like a major case of fraud. Later, I learned that very similar things were happening in Norway. After trying to understand what was happening and finally confirming this, the stories I published had some fallout: The Association of Issuing Bodies temporarily banned exports of these GOs from Iceland. But that didn't last long. This story now appears to have come to an end, with AIB accepting the Icelandic practice and with no plans to even investigate Norway.

Iceland's regulator argues what is happening here is "Double Claiming", not "Double Counting", and that's allowed by their interpretation of the rules. AIB seems to accept that. This severely questions the usefulness and legitimacy of green electricity certificates and pretty much all green electricity tariffs in Europe. @LarsFosdal Iceland had plans in the past to have a connection, but they no longer want to pursue that. They want to protect themselves from price hikes in the EU. But the lack of a grid connection really is just a curious detail of the whole GO story. Forbidding sales without a grid connection would exclude Iceland, but it would do little to adress the fundamental problems of the system.
