Ehrlich gesagt wäre ich eher an unspannenden Lösungen zur Einhaltung des Fahrplans und zur Erhöhung von dessen Verlässlichkeit über mehr als 3 Tage im Vorraus interessiert. Aber statt dessen mag man mir lieber erzählen, „warum Urban Analytics die Angebote von Smart City | DB erst möglich machen“.

    The @phpfig PSRs should also define the names of the packages that include the interfaces, as well as the name used to indicate implementations of the PSR.

    i.e., PSR-17 would include psr/http-factory and psr/http-factory-implementation, so I don’t have to go searching for these names every time.

    But having a mapping from the number to xyz is definitely missing!

    Perhaps we can implement an alias for psr/number to psr/string so that searching packagist for psr/20 returns psr/clock (and all psr/clock-implementation packages)?

    Whether that is necessary is indeed a question. But depending on the bureaucracy level they need to be stamped and bundled before being buried in peat for three months...🤷

    You can write all the tests you want: Production will always find ways to show you the raised middle finger.

    And if it's only by sending broken UTF-8 encoding.

    and that doesn't mean tests are useless! It only means you have to expect failures! No matter how large your testsuite is!

    And each of these raised middle fingers extends your testsuite to make sure you aren't bitten again by the same issue.

    But believe me: Production will find something else 😁

    @cwood There's for sure then also no point in procuring any insurance because there might be special edge cases that they won't cover...

    Tests are an insurance that your code won't break. The more tests you have, the more your insurance covers.

    You can for sure go with no insurance whatsoever!

    Would you want to take the risk?

    @thgs @cwood Writing Tests (at least to me) means that you document somewhere hot to test your code. Whether that is a word document that describes which buttons someone has to click or a file containing automated tests is an implementation detail.

    Having no tests at all means that you have not even the word document.

    2 hours of debugging to find out that by default sabre/vobject ignores ATTACH attributes in ICS-files....

    And it is the only attribute that they ignore by default....
