In about 11 hours Israelis are going to vote. No, we won't be able to vote out Bibi just yet, sadly, this is just for municipalities and regional councils. However like with national elections, haredi voters have a higher turnout than secular voters, and so many liberal cities end up having too many messianic conservatives hogging seats, budgets and in general using the popular vote for unpopular governing.
I urge all diaspora Jews to be relentless nudniks and send your Israelis to vote!
This touches things that have bothered me for a while. Lots of talk about the occupation being kept as a living test lab for the military tech industry. I think it's a cynical ugly lie that makes no fiscal sense but as a conspiracy theory it's too alluring for the masses to ignore :(

I was looking for info channels that will show me life and opinions in #Gaza, I thought Bisan was a good person to follow, but I see more and more disinformation as well.
Are no Gazans blaming Hamas at this point? No one demanding they give in and return the hostages to end the war? I see orchestrated blames solely against Israel as if the local "leadership" has no responsibility for this horrible situation, and civilians have zero expectations?
They may think that Israel should make a deal and release the thousands of hostages being held without charge or trial. But I don't know, can't speak for them.
Today’s @Haaretz headline story, by military correspondent Amos Harel, screams what we have long been suspecting: Netanyahu is avoiding a new hostage deal, because it may end the war.

I am not sure if intl. readers know enough to understand this tragic situation. For 10 months these hard working, ideolog, salt of the earth people were reviled as traitors and instigators by the people responsible for this disaster. מזיז את הקו האדום שלי. עד עכשיו התווכחתי פה ושם עם אנשים שקראו לפעולות ישראל רצח עם. לשבת להתווכח עם מישהו שיש הבדל בין טיהור אתני ורצח עם זה חסר פואנטה, כי אני עצמי רק הפנמתי את הדקויות לא מזמן, ובכל מקרה שתי הגישות בזויות וחסרות מוסר ואנושיות, רק שאחת מהן עוד יותר גרועה מהשניה. אני לא מתווכח שאנחנו מדינה גזענית ולאומנית, זה נתון.
עדיין אתווכח עם מצדדי הטבח, למרות שישראל לא חפה מפשע בשום צורה מהתעללות בפלסטינים.

@EyalL אני פשוט מת מפחד שניכנס אחרי שרק 20% אוכלוסיה נשארה, החמאס השאיר מטענים ממולכדים בשטח, צלפים, קומנדו ונינג'ות ולך תפעיל עכשיו כלים סייסמוגרפיים לאיתור בונקרים כשכל האדמה מסביב רועמת מטנקים נוסעים. אין לי מושג כמובן אילו טכנולוגיות בכלל יש לנו למציאת כל הבונקרים והסליקים.

באמת שאני לא מבין איזה אינטרס יש ללפיד וגנץ להכנס לממשלה. הם לא ממש יכולים לעצור שיטוח של עזה אם זה מה שגלנט וביבי יחליטו, הם רק יהוו לו עלה תאנה מול האמריקנים ויפילו עליהם אחריות על כל הפאשלות שיבואו.
אני מרגיש שאם לחיזבאללה למשל זה יראה כמו הצלחה מסחררת בלי מחירים משמעותיים, ייתכן שגם הם ירצו טעימה
אם חמאס יסיימו את האירוע הזה במקום משמעותית פחות טוב משהתחילו, אולי זה יקטין את התאבון שלהם בעתיד, ושל אחרים, להצלחות כמו שהיו להם היום בביצוע פשעי המלחמה שלהם
