Hi Fediverse 👋 I would really appreciate boosts or recommendations.

Unfortunately I was affected by the latest layoff at my (now former) company and started looking for a new job.

I have 10 years experience in iOS development (Swift, Objecive-C, UIKit, SwiftUI) and some experience in web (JavaScript, TypeScript, Java, PHP).

Currently looking remote or on-site in Berlin.

@stroughtonsmith Yeah. It was a terrible timing for Apple to do a deeper partnership with them. Giving that partnering with Unreal is out of question, I wonder if Apple might be thinking in buying Unity.

Argh… so I wasted 2+ hours and a lot of mental energy just to discover that NSTabViewController doesn't do the crossfade animation that's enabled on the storyboard, because that checkbox just doesn't work and it works fine if I simply set that same property in code… yay 😑

(If you tell me I should not be building the UI with storyboards, I will turn into a gremlin 👿)

@mackuba At this point I think the entire code for Interface Builder is unmaintained. That’s probably why they added support to UIViews and UIViewControllers in the new Preview macro.

I read this week more than once that the future of doesn’t look good. As a aspiring that chose to learn this engine, that scares me a bit. Can someone explain what’s behind this sentiment?

    @manualdousuario Quando eu comprei o meu, achei que teria uma boa variedade de usos e vários aplicativos. Isso infelizmente não se realizou. Ele é ótimo pra saúde e fitness, e também pra ver as notificações do iPhone sem precisar tirar ele do bolso. Mas nada mais. PS: eu ainda amo ele, mesmo tendo um uso limitado.

    Is there really no way to specify default values for keys? Like, if a JSON key is missing, provide a default value for a struct’s property, without having to write a custom init(from:) initializer?

    That makes it hard to dot-version rev a schema by adding keys, but continue to maintain backward-compatibility with older saved data…

    Threads is the most fun, most interesting new product of the year, and no one in the E.U. can use it, or will be able to use it anytime soon, because their own elected officials passed a law that effectively bans it.

    @gruber That's a very weird take to post on Mastodon. I'd guess most people here value their privacy much more than using the new shiny thing Meta just released.
